After Donald Trump stopped Israel from annihilating the world‘s worst terror-sponsoring regime, Iran, many Americans talked as if Israel’s war was over. But Iran’s many proxies continue to plot genocidal jihad, and Hamas is regularly attacking and killing Israeli soldiers with Iran's support.
It is an unfortunate tendency of Westerners, especially Americans, not to read about international news or try and understand much about countries and cultures that are different from ours — which is the only explanation for the glaring historical ignorance Americans still have historically (e.g., about imperial Japan’s WWII atrocities) and geopolitically (e.g., not knowing Islam is inherently violent and evil). Sometimes, even conservatives fall into the trap of cultural imperialism, imposing their own standards and beliefs on other groups of people without realizing that other cultures can have totally different moral and material goals than we do.
For example, in America, we seem to take it for granted that parents prioritize their children’s safety over ideology, although how we can believe that when we see leftist parents mutilating their kids in the name of transgenderism, I don’t know. Yet the Hamas co-founder’s son, Mosab Hassan Yousef, warned us that many of the so-called Palestinian parents are happy to exploit and expose their children to danger for the sake of Jihad.
In America, we take it for granted that leaders prefer national peace and material prosperity, though how we can believe that when so many of our own leaders are warmongers, I don’t know. For some reason, we can’t seem to understand that Muslim regimes really do believe that war is a form of worship and the most glorious way of life, that jihad is unending.

Israel is still at war. Last week, five Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) troops, all of them under 30 years old, were ambushed and murdered by Palestinian terrorists. It was reportedly one of the deadliest single events of the war in Gaza for the IDF. On July 10, Israel reported the death of another Israeli soldier, Capt. Reei Biran.

This is why it is so particularly disturbing that even Republicans like Donald Trump and Marco Rubio, usually so strongly pro-Israel, now seem determined to ignore the fact that Islam has always raped, murdered, and pillaged since the seventh century and will be doing so until it is finally destroyed altogether. Trump not only saved the Iranian regime (which has openly called for his assassination numerous times) so that its terror proxies could fight Americans and Israelis another day, but he also lifted sanctions on Syria and removed the terrorist designation from the murderous jihad group now in charge of Syria.
The new leader of Syria broke into the jihad business by fighting Americans, he has imposed harsh sharia law, used the title al-Golani to signify his hatred of Israel, is still overseeing persecution and massacres of Christians in his country, and until recently had a $10 million bounty on his head because of what he and his al-Qaeda offshoot HTS had done. Now al-Golani/al-Sharaa and HTS are being rewarded by the leader of the free world because they put on Western suits and paid a little lip service to wanting peace.
This is incentivizing terrorism against Israel and America, not solving it. Trump might sincerely think he is achieving peace, but he is only teaching Jihadis who will never stop wanting to destroy Christians and Jews that crime pays.
The road to hell — and civilizational suicide — is paved with good intentions.
