Democrats Turned the Epstein Files Into a Dangerous Game of Chicken

Democrats are hurtling headfirst into a high-stakes game of chicken over the Epstein Files, convinced that these documents will finally bring down Donald Trump. But their Trump Derangement Syndrome has blinded them to reality. Every scheme they’ve tried so far has exploded in their faces—and the only people actually exposed for shady ties to Epstein are Democrats themselves. So, why are they still trying?

The game of chicken began when Trump was running for president, in part on the promise that he’d release the Epstein files. After years of doing nothing under Biden, Democrats promptly flip-flopped and claimed to want transparency, calling for the release of the files and implying that Trump was the one the files would expose. The media, of course, has gladly amplified this narrative.

”There's not a shred of evidence that he had anything to do with it, but that's what they want people to believe. That's the narrative that they are trying to get out there,” Scott Jennings said on CNN NewsNight earlier this week. “In fact, there seems to be some shards of evidence in here that Trump may have been one of the people who turned in Jeffrey Epstein, which is why Epstein, according to some of the documents, apparently hated Donald Trump.”

Trump, of course, wants it all out there. On Sunday night, he called for the release of the files. "House Republicans should vote to release the Epstein files, because we have nothing to hide.” On Tuesday afternoon, the House voted 427–1 for the Epstein Files Transparency Act, and the Senate promptly passed it via unanimous consent. Despite Trump’s blessing and the virtually unanimous approval of the files’ release, the left can’t get over the narrative that this is finally going to be the silver bullet that ends Trump’s presidency.

Kara Swisher, a veteran tech journalist and chronic Trump-basher, claimed on her podcast with Scott Galloway that the Epstein Files would be the scandal to end Trump’s presidency early.

“I just, I don't know. I feel like we're gonna have President JD Vance by the end of 2026,” she said.

“So wait, hold on,” Galloway interrupted. “You think this ends his presidency prematurely?”

“Yes,” she replied, with confidence.

There’s just one problem: none of this has panned out. Despite her grand promises, no evidence implicating Trump has surfaced in the flood of Epstein disclosures. We’ve seen more evidence that Democrats are the ones who have something to worry about the files, not Trump. On the contrary, it’s Trump who seems to be the only person who did the right thing and cut off ties with Epstein decades ago.

Swisher’s prediction is based on a fantasy, not reality. She seems to have forgotten that last week, Democrats trotted out a handful of selectively leaked and doctored Epstein emails, aiming for a knockout blow against Trump, and it backfired.

The GOP hit back with a dump of over 20,000 emails. Suddenly, the narrative flipped. Larry Summers, Bill Clinton’s former Treasury secretary and Obama’s economic advisor, Virgin Islands Delegate Stacey Plaskett, White House counsel under Obama Kathryn Ruemmler, and now House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries all found themselves tangled in the Epstein fallout. Instead of bringing Trump down, these releases have shone a harsh light on Democrats they’d rather keep hidden.

And it’s likely only going to get worse for the Democrats. They’re playing a game of chicken, and it’s not going to go the way they expect.
