Democrats in government and media are exponentially more upset that a show host with practically no viewership and plummeting ratings was suspended for lying than they are about a conservative being assassinated for free speech. And that in a nutshell is exactly what is wrong with Democrat leadership.
Jimmy Kimmel thought Charlie Kirk’s death and its aftermath were jokes until he was held accountable for defamatory statements on subsidized public airwaves. Barack Obama, Chuck Schumer, Kamala Harris, Brian Stelter, Stephen Colbert, Hakeem Jeffries, and all the other Democrats who demanded online censorship and defended violent rioters are now outraged that ABC fired a show host who was losing money hand over fist. The message is clear — they should be able to use as much violent rhetoric, tell as many slanderous lies, and intimidate their opponents as much as they want, but we are not supposed to fight back in any way.
Democrats believe in an oligarchy in which they are automatically in charge and not held to the rules because they believe they are so much smarter and better than everyone else. What they have found out to their shock after Kirk‘s assassination is that you can in fact be held accountable for inciting violence (which is not constitutionally protected speech) and lying about people. The First Amendment is supposed to protect you from facing government retaliation, but Democrats trampled that by their government-Big Tech censorship industrial complex, particularly under the Biden-Harris administration (hence Kamala’s hysteria is pure irony). It does not protect you from being fired if you are losing your employer money and views and lying about assassination on public television.

This administration is attacking critics and using fear as a weapon to silence anyone who would speak out. Media corporations — from television networks to newspapers — are capitulating to these threats.

Nor is the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) wrong to investigate and criticize Kimmel for making his statements on a network that receives government subsidies. What is outraging Democrats is that all of a sudden the rules are being applied to them.
They have assumed for so long that they can burn down cities, rig elections, import foreign criminals, release domestic criminals over and over, lie about and smear their opponents in every possible way, and directly or tacitly encourage murder without facing the slightest bit of accountability. Every Democrat who called Charlie Kirk and his allies Nazis and fascists and extremists had complicity in radicalizing Tyler Robinson, Kirk’s accused shooter.

Democrats issued a few meaningless statements after Kirk‘s death about political violence, and quickly moved on to using the same violence-inducing rhetoric. But with Kimmel‘s suspension, despite the fact that it was inevitable at some point because his show has such low ratings, the Democrats are introducing new legislation and demanding FCC Chair Brendan Carr’s resignation and screeching and wailing and gnashing their teeth. As Ron Weasley might say, they need to sort out their priorities.
And, even more importantly, we need to be very clear about what the Democrat Party wants. It is no exaggeration to say they want us dead. That is why Democrats defend and release and re-release criminals, claim that violent rioters are expressing free speech, and try to turn leftist shooters into victims. On the other hand, they believe no accountability should ever be brought to bear for them. And that is why it is so incredibly important for us to keep bringing more accountability than ever before. If you commit a crime or fuel deadly violence, you should have to face the consequences. We’re tired of being Democrats’ doormats and shooting targets.
