The left in America literally cannot handle the truth, and it loses its collective mind whenever reality doesn’t conform to its narrative.
On August 29, Catholics honor the martyrdom of Jesus’ cousin John the Baptist, whom King Herod killed through the machinations of Herodias, who resented the fact that John truthfully said her marriage to Herod was not licit since she was actually his brother‘s wife. With the number of killings and attempted killings recently by crazed leftists, it is hard not to notice that Democrats have developed very much of Herodias’s mentality.
Whenever they hear someone speak a truth with which they disagree, leftists literally want to kill that person, as Herodias wanted John killed. And so it happens that some of the leftists act on their murderous rage. Transgender mass shooter Robert Westman, who hated Jews, Christians, and Donald Trump, and who killed Minneapolis Catholic schoolchildren, is one. Snehal Ansh Srivastava, a trans radical who loved “Palestine” and supported BLM, who was just arrested for fatally shooting a Massachusetts father, is another. Olivia G. Wilkins, who attempted to run over Border Patrol agents while they were interviewing illegal aliens, is yet another.

These criminals did not act in isolation. They are part of a major continuum that includes the anti-ICE and BLM/Antifa rioters, the pro-Hamas radicals, the would-be assassins of Donald Trump, and even back to the KKK and Red Shirts in the 19th and 20th centuries. The Democrat Party has always encouraged domestic terrorism, but now it seems to operate on the principle that everyone with whom it disagrees is basically equivalent to Adolf Hitler. That sort of rhetoric spurs violence.
And the violence is often particularly directed against people who are either outspoken truth-tellers or who are perceived as representing a group that speaks truth (e.g., Christians, Jews, conservatives). Like Herodias, leftists cannot handle the truth. Thus, Westman specifically expressed the desire to target Donald Trump, Jews, and Catholics. They all represented to him individuals or entities that spoke truths or highlighted realities in conflict with his own warped and irrational ideology.
Audrey Hale, the woman pretending to be a man who killed multiple people during a 2023 mass shooting at a Tennessee Christian school, penned a manifesto full of racial slurs. She deliberately chose to murder Christian schoolchildren whom she evidently perceived as privileged white people. Hale was a product of leftist ideology just as Westman was. And she applied the leftist groupthink and leftist rage to children and school staff whom she had never met.

That brings up another point, which is that leftists, as Marxists, persist in seeing everyone as a representative of a group rather than an individual. Hale and Westman didn’t see Victor, Mary, and Joe; they saw “white Christian bigots.”
But Democrats are happy to have it that way. Chaos, fear, crime, and violence are all tools in their political toolbox.
