The supreme leader and primary jihad-lover of Iran never saw a topic he couldn’t transform into an antisemitic rant, and that’s just what he did on the occasion of the Hajj, the yearly Muslim pilgrimage to Mecca.
The Hajj 2025 began on May 28 and will end June 10. It includes Eid al-Adha, Islam’s attempt to co-opt the story of Abraham for itself and celebrate him as a Muslim patriarch instead of a Jew. Muslims copied and rewrote the Bible story, which occurred about 2.5 millennia before Islam was invented, to claim Ismail, Abraham’s illegitimate son, was the focus rather than Isaac and that it was he almost sacrificed at God’s request (see Genesis 22 for the real story). That’s the holiday occurring right now for Muslims, and which Ayatollah Khamenei of Iran used as a pretext for bashing Jews.
On June 5, in the middle of Hajj, Khamenei posted on X, “You blessed pilgrims, do not neglect the opportunity to pray and seek Almighty God's help during the #Hajj and beseech Almighty God for victory over the Zionist oppressors and their supporters.”
The ayatollah also gleefully bragged about the increase in antisemitism around the world. “Despite the efforts of the Zionist regime’s supporters to erase the Palestinian issue, the foolish policies of that regime’s leaders have created a situation in which #Palestine's name shines more brightly today than ever and public hate of the Zionists is more severe than ever,” he sneered.
Speaking of Abraham, Khamenei should take heed from God’s promise to Abraham, the father of the Jewish people: “I will bless them that bless thee, and curse them that curse thee (Genesis 12:3).”

The Iranian regime oppresses its own people and is the biggest state sponsor of terrorism abroad. It has long made wiping Israel off the map one of its top priorities and declared “death to America” one of its main slogans. Khamenei elatedly celebrated Hamas’s horrific atrocities on Oct. 7, 2023, when the Iran-supported terror group kidnapped and gunned down entire families, raped women to death, beheaded and burned babies alive, massacred Israelis of all ages, and committed other atrocities purely because the victims were Jewish or citizens of a Jewish nation. Iran also backs Hezbollah and the Houthis, both trying to destroy Israel.
All of which is to say that Israeli authorities are not exaggerating when they talk about the existential threat Iran poses. And the Iranian regime will not change, because it draws its inspiration from the “holy” texts of Islam that command the slaughter of Jews.
In fact, it’s not such a stretch for Khamenei to make the Hajj about killing Jews. The whole point of the Hajj is to steal a Biblical story from the Jews, rewrite it to favor Ismail, the progenitor of Arabs, and thus falsely claim the status of God’s chosen people. Muslims hate Jews because the Jews are the original and true religion, the actual inheritors of the divine covenant, the Chosen People, which is what the Muslims want to be. The very existence of the Jews is a constant reminder that Islam is demonic fan fiction of God’s religion.
