After four years of keeping the Jeffrey Epstein files locked away like state secrets under Joe Biden, Democrats seem to think they’ve struck gold by trying to weaponize their release against President Donald Trump. It’s a bizarre strategy that keeps blowing up in their faces. Every new attempt to tie Trump to Epstein’s disgusting crimes ends the same way: no connection or evidence. In fact, the releases have done more to link Democrats to Epstein than Trump. You’d think they’d learn by now, but apparently, self-inflicted embarrassment is the new party platform.
What really stands out is their sudden obsession with transparency. When Joe Biden was in the White House, not one Democrat showed the slightest interest in releasing the Epstein files. The Justice Department sat on tens of thousands of pages for years, and neither the Biden administration nor Democrats in Congress seemed to mind. It was only when Trump took office that Democrats discovered their desire for “transparency” with the Epstein files. Funny how that works, isn’t it?
The problem for the Democrats is that even their own advocates are waking up to the hypocrisy. Kamala Harris appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live! this week and addressed this very issue. Now, she’s the last person I’d ask for a straight answer. Nevertheless, Kimmel went there, and the response was as absurd as you’d expect it to be.
“To give you an answer that will not satisfy your curiosity, I will tell you we, perhaps to our damage, but we strongly and rightly believed that there should be an absolute separation between what we wanted as an administration and what the Department of Justice did.” She doubled down, insisting, “We absolutely adhered to that and it was right to do that.”

The notion that their silence was about preserving independence rather than suppressing politically explosive material doesn’t hold water, especially since Democrats today are suggesting that the power to release the files rests solely with Trump.
The fact remains that the only reason those files are coming out at all is that President Trump ran on this issue. He also signed the Epstein Files Transparency Act into law back in November, forcing the DOJ to release all unclassified documents by Friday. Without that law, we’d still be waiting while Democrats pretended to care.
The more Democrats try to weaponize this issue, the more it backfires on them. Every attempt by Democrats to tie Trump to Epstein’s crimes has fallen apart on contact with evidence. In November, they leaked a few carefully picked and doctored emails, pretending to have a “smoking gun” against Trump. Republicans responded by dumping more than 20,000 emails, turning the narrative against the Democrats. The result was that Democrats, not Trump, wound up exposed instead, including Larry Summers, Bill Clinton’s former Treasury secretary and an Obama economic adviser; Virgin Islands Delegate Stacey Plaskett; Obama White House counsel Kathryn Ruemmler; and even House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries.
I’ve said before that Trump’s handling of the issue hasn’t been perfect — he promised a quick and full release that’s been bogged down by bureaucratic delays — but at least he’s forcing the documents into daylight. That’s more than Biden or Kamala ever did. For years, Democrats had complete control of the White House and Congress, yet they still kept those files hidden. Kamala’s excuse doesn’t make a lick of sense. In the end, Democrats had four years to act and did nothing. That silence during the Biden years says more than any soundbite ever could.
