President Trump’s bold decision to order six B-2 bombers to strike Iran’s most fortified nuclear development sites may be remembered as the defining moment of his presidency. The historic mission took out facilities that even Israel couldn’t reach, thanks to the bunker-busting payloads of the B-2s. While some debate the risks of such a move, the threat it targeted is very real—and one the Biden administration allowed to grow unchecked.
Since seizing power in 1979, Iran’s regime has killed hundreds of Americans through terrorism. As Mark Tapscott pointed out, that threat now hits closer to home, largely due to Biden’s reckless open border policies. Millions of illegal aliens entered the U.S. between 2021 and 2024—many unvetted, some from hostile nations. The House Homeland Security Committee warned in 2024 that over 390 individuals on the terror watchlist had been caught crossing our border on Biden’s watch.
With Iranian sleeper cells likely embedded across the country, and our enemies emboldened, the stage is set for domestic attacks. Trump took action when it mattered. Biden, by contrast, opened the door. As the consequences of both choices play out, the stakes couldn’t be higher.
On Sunday, Maria Bartiromo pressed Border Czar Tom Homan for specifics on this threat.
“Can you assess that issue particularly? How many Iranians are in the country that are in sleeper cells, uh, trying to do bad to America right now?”
Homan didn’t mince words about his longstanding concerns, pointing directly to the Biden administration’s border policies as a major vulnerability.
“Well, look, you and I have talked about this many times. I said the last four years my biggest concern was this open border, was the biggest national security vulnerability this country's ever seen,” Homan began. He cited fresh numbers from Customs and Border Protection, noting, “There was 1,272 nationals of Iran released in the country between OFO and the Border Patrol.”

Homan contrasted this with the Trump era, stating unequivocally, “And you compare that to the Trump administration, zero, right? Zero releases. And right now because of President Trump's leadership, we have the most secure border in my lifetime, most secure border in the history of this nation.”
Homan credited Trump’s policies for the previous state of border security, describing it as “President Trump's big win on securing this nation.” He underscored that under Trump, “we're not releasing people in this country, especially when there's aliens aren't crossing that border undetected.”
He also drew a sharp contrast with the current administration, noting that, “Under Joe Biden, we had over 10 million people cross that border, but my biggest concern from day one beyond the fentanyl, beyond the sex trafficking of women and children, were the two million known got-aways.”
The specter of these “got-aways”—individuals who entered the country without detection—was central to Homan’s warning. “Over two million people crossed that border. We don't know who they are, where they came from because they got away 'cause Border Patrol was so overwhelmed with the humanitarian crisis that Biden created, that over two million people crossed the border and got away. That is my biggest concern and that's what created the biggest national security vulnerability this country's ever seen,” he said.
When Bartiromo asked if authorities had any sense of where these individuals went, Homan was blunt: “No. You know, uh, intelligence community under President Trump has been on this since day one.” He expressed some comfort in the current intelligence leadership, saying, “What gives me any comfort at all is that you don't have Christopher Wray there, you got Kash Patel there. You don't have Alejandro Mayorkas there anymore, you got, you got Kristi Noem. And you certainly don't have Kamala Harris as the Border Czar. So President Trump brought a great team, been on this since day one. Do we know where every one of the two million are? No.”
Homan admitted, “We don't know who they all are. We don't know why they're here or where they came from.” But he pointed to troubling findings: “But we do know be- uh, Border Patrol Intelligence for the last four years, they found prayer mats, uh, south of the border. They found identification from people from Iran, Turkey, Uzbekistan, Syria south of the border.” He concluded, “So we know that, uh, some terrorists have, eh, eh, crossed that border. We'd be a fool to think zero crossed.”
Despite the alarming possibilities, Homan emphasized that the adults are back in charge again with the Trump administration. “The, the thing is though we got President Trump as a commander-in-chief who's put all resources on this. That's why President Trump from day one, ICE operations, despite what the left media says, he has been focused on national security threats and public safety threats. And between ICE and the, the bureau, we've removed thousands of national security threats—because of President Trump's leadership on this.”
