Are Senate Republicans Really This Dense?

Look, we all know that even if Joe Biden is impeached in the House, the Democrat-controlled Senate would never convict him. Heck, it’s been clear for some time now that Senate Republicans have been less enthused about impeaching Joe Biden than their Republican colleagues in the House—and I can’t for the life of me figure out why.

But over the past few months, House Republicans have compiled a damning case against Joe Biden, and one would think that Republicans would be willing to acknowledge this.

Last week, Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) insisted there was “no evidence” that Joe Biden has committed impeachable offenses.

“I’m going to take the same position I’ve taken since 2019, and all I can say is that there is some indication of maybe some compromise with China, particularly, but I have no evidence of it,” he said. “I’m going to just follow the facts where they are, and the facts haven’t taken me to that point where I can say that the president’s guilty of anything."

He’s not alone. On Sunday, Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) appeared on "Meet the Press" and claimed there’s not a smoking gun yet.

Host Kristen Welker cited Grassley’s previous statement and asked, "Do you agree with him? Is there any evidence so far?"

"You know, I haven't really been paying that much attention to it,” Graham claimed with a chuckle. "They have to report that to prove that President Biden somehow financially benefited from the business enterprises of Hunter Biden. We’ll see."

“Have they done it yet in your mind?"

"If there were a smoking gun, I think we would be talking about it,” he said.

Really? There’s no smoking gun?

The House Oversight Committee has already uncovered $15 million in payments made to the Biden family from foreign entities in Ukraine, Russia, Kazakhstan, Romania, and China between 2014 and 2019, with an additional $9 million going to Biden's associates. These payments were laundered through 20 Biden family shell companies that have no actual business or product to sell, save for Joe Biden’s influence. We also know that Joe Biden lied about never having spoken with Hunter Biden’s foreign business associates, and yet, the Oversight Committee found at least 22 instances of him interacting with them. Why would Joe Biden lie if everything was on the level? Even a credible FBI informant had details of an alleged $5 million bribe Biden accepted while he was vice president. Also, earlier this month, the House Oversight Committee found that Joe Biden received monthly payments from one of the Biden family shell companies that was receiving money from China.

How much more evidence do these Republicans need? Polls show that most Americans think that Joe and Hunter Biden were up to no good; why are they pretending everything they were doing was on the level?

The worst thing is the way the left is taking these comments from Grassley and Graham and using them to support the "no evidence" talking point, undermining the solid case against Biden.

I swear, sometimes Republicans don't get that Democrats are their enemies.
