10,000 Foreign Students Are Working for Sketchy Overseas Groups. U.S. Colleges Need Fewer Foreigners.

The federal government has uncovered a mass fraud scheme involving thousands of foreign students who falsely claim employment or help send money to overseas groups. This is another proof of the fact that we need to be allowing far fewer foreign students, especially from hostile nations like China, into our universities.

Kari Lake, who heads the U.S. Agency for Global Media, reshared the Department of Homeland Security video below, highlighting the report on students who were "working" for "employers" who have "no employment records, offshore payroll claims, and suspicious INTERNATIONAL MONEY flows." Some of the employers are facing lawsuits or they "operate" out of empty buildings. Even though OPT (Optional Practical Training) employers must train the employees themselves, numerous referred investigators to management in India. There is evidence of a mass international fraud network providing foreign students a claim of employment that is fake, while relying on overseas operations. And the 10,000 students identified as having likely fraudulent employment claims are from just the top 25 OPT employers, making this the "tip of the iceberg."

Whether the administration is Democrat or Republican, presidents keep welcoming in ever greater numbers of Chinese students and students from other hostile nations, including multiple sharia hellholes. Even Donald Trump — who has tried to crack down on illegal aliens and radical Islamists at universities — was happy to agree to 600,000 student visas for Communist Chinese youth. Americans tend to have an optimistic belief that foreign students approved by enemy governments come here because they want to enjoy American freedom. For some reason, we rarely consider that they might be coming here to infiltrate and undermine our country.

For instance, while there were thousands of brainwashed leftist students who participated in or helped lead pro-Hamas, anti-Israel riots on American College campuses since 2023, many of the ringleaders and instigators were foreigners. The most infamous is probably Columbia University student and Palestinian activist Mahmoud Khalil, whom the Trump administration has been attempting to deport for many months.

Khalil is not an outlier. White House advisor Stephen Miller commented on X June 24 after the recent New York City elections that all went to socialists, including Hamas-loving Aber Kawas: “Half of all college graduates in NYC are immigrants or from immigrant households. So when observers say college grads in NYC are embracing communism this is not a home-grown phenomenon.” This highlights another aspect of the issue, which is that many of the individuals who come here on student visas or who are illegal aliens sheltered at woke universities end up staying here permanently. But while some of them stay because they love American freedom, many more of them end up protesting and voting for the same catastrophes they escaped in their home countries.

One of the countries that sends the most students to U.S. universities is China. Every Chinese student who comes here has to have the approval of the genocidal, America-hating Chinese Communist Party (CCP), which declared a war phase with the U.S. in 2019. I do personally know one Chinese student who fell in love with America and stayed here because he wanted to live in a free country. The problem is, since all the students have to get CCP approval, most of them are from very loyal Party families.

Even ex-FBI Director Chris Wray, who usually worked against America's interests, admitted to the Senate in 2018 that every Chinese student who comes here is connected to the CCP. The Economic Times did an article last year titled, "Students or spies? How China infiltrated US universities." The piece discussed serious problems of intellectual property theft, spying, and risky lab access due to U.S. universities welcoming so many Chinese students and professors. The message was clear — the CCP, which does not welcome U.S. students to its universities, is exploiting our attitude toward foreign students to steal our research and tech and infiltrate our institutions.
