Welfare is essentially government-mandated theft, and Democrat policies cause a great deal of suffering for everyone but the ultra-wealthy, so we really shouldn’t be surprised that the shutdown is exposing how much leftists love to inflict suffering and steal other people‘s property.
Entitled welfare recipients are threatening to steal as much as they want from grocery stores if their benefits at our expense are cut back in November. Meanwhile, a prominent Democrat calmly announced that of course people were going to suffer during the shutdown; apparently, that was the idea — it provides her party “leverage.” Or, in other words, Democrats are assuming that because Republicans care more about American citizens suffering, Republicans will cave before Democrats do on shutdown demands.
First, we look at the blatant callousness of Democrat leadership, deliberately dragging out the government shutdown in order to pressure Republicans into giving illegal aliens taxpayer-funded healthcare. House Minority Whip Katherine Clark (D-Mass.) — the second ranking Democrat in the House of Representatives — said the not-so-quiet part out loud on Fox News.
“The shutdowns are terrible, and of course there will be families that are going to suffer,” Clark agreed composedly. “We take that responsibility very seriously. But it is one of the few leverage times we have.”

Democrats don’t care about American citizens — if they did, they would not be pouring so much effort and resources into protecting illegal aliens, and they would never have had the horrible economic and educational policies that they have. Clark just let slip what many of us already know.
Speaking of not caring at all about other people, some welfare recipients have gotten so used to the false notion that it is the obligation of the government to take money from other people to give to them, so convinced that it is their right to have money which they didn’t earn, that they are openly planning to steal what they want if the goodies stop flowing soon. When a government institutionalizes injustice and theft, naturally the people who benefit will see injustice and thievery as perfectly legitimate.

This reminds me of the young woman with the professional manicure who sneered that she was owed junk food on food stamps. Democrats created these greedy monsters with the modern repeat of the destructive Roman imperial custom known as “bread and circuses.”
