Just when you thought the mask-them-all-and-let-God-sort-them-out COVID Karens might have finally given up the ghost, they flood my X feed — by some algorithmic magic — with a whole new set of complaints/demands that the public submit to a fresh series of masking requirements.

(I don’t know what’s up with the X algorithm, but what follows is a very small sampling of the avalanche of #ZeroCOVID propaganda in my feed recently.)

Dear Director-General Ghebreyesus and Colleagues,
WHO should lead decisively toward safer healthcare by establishing respirators as the universal default for all healthcare encounters, with clearly defined, locally-determined off-ramps based on transparent risk indicators and the use of effective engineering controls. This recommendation would align WHO policy with science and existing safety standards and would improve safety for both patients and healthcare providers.

(For the record, the WHO has no legitimate authority in the United States, particularly since Trump pulled America out of the organization entirely.)

All of which to say: some enormous subset of the American population is not just complacent but eager to serve as foot soldiers in the next bout of biomedical totalitarianism.

One way or another, Pandemic 2.0 is coming. It might not be this year; it might not be next year; but with the exponential leaps in technology and the incredibly poor oversight/restraint enacted upon the practitioners of The Science™, it’s inevitable.
Unfortunately, for all of the great work that RFK Jr. and Trump have done together, we haven’t seen the kind of broad dismantling of the tentacles of the Public Health™ apparatus to have confidence they’ll be thwarted when a new — and potentially deadlier or more virulent — pathogen that they cooked up in some offshore lab crops up.
