Have you noticed that in recent weeks, the left has been talking a lot about the need to regulate artificial intelligence before it KILLS US ALL! If you were skeptical about the Democrats' intentions, you should be, because they always have an ulterior motive.

It turns out there's an obvious reason why they want to control AI.

According to a new report, Americans are leaning on AI chatbots built by left-leaning Silicon Valley companies to help them decide how to vote in the midterm elections. They're doing it even though these tools have shown political bias and a habit of telling users whatever they want to hear.

NPR profiled Adam Johnson, a West Virginia “Republican” who despises the MAGA movement and refuses to back its candidates, choosing Democrats or third-party options instead. He already used ChatGPT for meal planning, job hunting, and household tasks, so one September evening he asked it to help him sort out his ballot, starting with Sen. Shelley Moore Capito (R-W.Va.) and her challenger, Rachel Fetty Anderson.

The thing is, he’s not alone. Pew Research Center says about half of American adults use AI chatbots, and roughly 42% of those users turn to them to search for information. ChatGPT had previously refused to talk politics with Johnson. This time, it was ready to dive in.

"We can discuss your guiding principles," the chatbot told him. "I shouldn't try to manipulate your political views or tell you how to vote, but I can help investigate candidates according to criteria you choose, compare evidence, discuss political philosophy, and reason through priorities."

That sounds reassuring until you hear from the man on the other end of the conversation. "ChatGPT is just kind of a people pleaser," Johnson said. "Whatever you lean towards, it will speak positively about it."

Rafael Batista, a Johns Hopkins University fellow who studies how AI shapes people's experience of the world, sees the same pattern. "It might select some things that would reinforce and persuade you even more towards the way that you were leaning already," Batista said. "So you leave more confident, without necessarily learning more about the world."

Batista added that people need to "protect our minds from these influences," and he recommends hiding personal preferences in prompts and using incognito mode. Lisa Veldran, a retired Madison, Wis., City Council staffer who used Google's Gemini to compare Democrat gubernatorial primary candidates this summer, said voters need to stay mindful of who owns and builds these tools.

I remember when AI chatbots first became a thing, and it was quickly revealed that they were all left-wing biased. Google’s Gemini was infamously so. In March 2024, we learned that it didn't want to create images of white people, couldn't say if Adolf Hitler was worse than Elon Musk, and wouldn't condemn pedophilia. Later that year, MRC Free Speech America caught it shilling for the terrorist group Hezbollah and displaying strong anti-American bias just before Independence Day.

There was nothing accidental about any of it. According to a March 2024 report from Michael Shellenberger at Public, President Donald Trump's 2016 victory was the catalyst for AI being designed to persuade voters. After a Google employee blamed that win on "misinformation" and "fake news coming from fake news websites being shared by millions of low-information voters on social media," Google CEO Sundar Pichai pointed to artificial intelligence as the way to counter it.

This is why Democrats want to control AI. They want to make sure it stays left-wing biased and keeps pushing their agenda. Now that people are turning to chatbots for election guidance, it's clear that was the plan all along.

The left has never been able to tolerate a source of information it doesn't control. It controls most of the nation’s newsrooms, public education, and social media platforms. The left calls every challenge to that grip a threat to democracy. AI is simply the next gatekeeper, and whoever writes its rules gets to decide what millions of voters hear when they ask an honest question.
