Trump Was Right: All We Needed Was a New President

Remember when Joe Biden insisted that he needed Congress to do something to secure the border? And then Donald Trump pointed out the obvious? "The media and our friends in the Democrat Party kept saying we needed new legislation," he said. "We must have legislation to secure the border, but it turned out that all we really needed was a new president."

The numbers are in, and they confirm what common sense and conservative leadership have always known: strong borders require strong action. June 2025 delivered a historic low in illegal border crossings — just 6,070 for the entire month. To put that in perspective, that’s less than what we saw in a single day under Biden’s so-called “leadership.” In fact, on many days during Biden’s presidency, the number of illegal crossings was more than double that figure every single day.

What changed? It’s simple: the return of President Trump and a no-nonsense approach to border security.

Border Czar Tom Homan called it “THE TRUMP EFFECT.” He rightly pointed out, “President Trump has created the most secure border in the history of the nation and the data proves it. We have never seen numbers this low. Never.” That’s not hyperbole; that’s a fact backed up by the government’s own numbers.

Let’s not forget that under Biden, the southern border was a disaster zone. We saw daily apprehensions regularly exceed 6,000, and at the peak of the crisis in late 2023, illegal crossings topped 10,000 in a single day. The Biden administration’s open borders policies led to a humanitarian, political, and operational catastrophe — one that put American communities at risk and overwhelmed our law enforcement agencies. It took a return to law and order, and the political will to enforce it, to turn the tide.

June’s numbers are not just a statistical anomaly. They’re the direct result of aggressive enforcement and a clear message to would-be border crossers: the days of catch-and-release are over. Homan emphasized that not a single one of the 6,070 illegal entrants in June was released into the United States. Zero. That’s a seismic shift from the previous administration, where releasing migrants into the interior became the norm, not the exception.

The Trump administration’s approach is straightforward: enforce the law, support the men and women of the Border Patrol and ICE, and make it clear that we will not tolerate illegal entry. The results speak for themselves. Interior arrests and real consequences are driving down illegal immigration, not empty rhetoric or virtue signaling from Washington elites.

Contrast this with the chaos we endured under Biden. The border was a revolving door, and the message to the world was that there were no consequences. That reckless approach didn’t just undermine our sovereignty; it endangered American families and strained our resources to the breaking point.

Now, with Trump back at the helm, we are witnessing what real leadership looks like. The border is finally under control, and the numbers prove it. This is what happens when you put America’s interests first and refuse to apologize for enforcing the law. The so-called experts and media talking heads who insisted that nothing could be done have been proven wrong again.

The men and women of the U.S. Border Patrol and ICE deserve our gratitude. They’ve been given the tools and the backing they need to do their jobs, and the results are historic. As Homan said, “God bless the men and women of the US Border Patrol and God bless the men and women of ICE. The TRUMP EFFECT keeps America winning.”

Border security isn’t rocket science. It’s about political will, common sense, and a commitment to putting Americans first. The Trump administration has delivered on all counts, and the record-low numbers at the border are just the latest proof. America is back in control of its borders — and that’s exactly where we should be.
