They didn’t learn their lesson after the election. They didn’t learn their lesson after the Abrego Garcia situation blew up in their faces. Now, the Democrat Party's bizarre obsession with protecting illegal aliens reached new heights of absurdity on Friday when several New Jersey Democrats attempted to force their way into a detention facility housing some of the most dangerous criminal illegal aliens in custody.
Three Democrat members of Congress—Reps. Rob Menendez Jr., Bonnie Watson Coleman, and LaMonica McIver—along with Newark Mayor Ras Baraka, decided to stage what they claimed was an "oversight" visit to ICE's Delaney Hall detention facility. Make no mistake about it, this facility houses the worst of the worst: MS-13 gang members, murderers, and child rapists awaiting deportation under President Trump's aggressive enforcement policies.
"These members of Congress storming into a detention facility goes beyond bizarre political stunt and puts the safety of our law enforcement agents and the detainees at risk," the Department of Homeland Security said in a statement to Fox News. "Members of Congress are not above the law and cannot illegally break into detention facilities. Had these members requested a tour, we would have facilitated a tour of the facility. This is an evolving situation."
The Democrats saw their opportunity when the facility gates opened to allow an ICE bus through.
Let's be honest here. What these Democrats were doing had nothing to do with oversight. This was about Democrats continuing their radical agenda of protecting criminal illegal aliens at the expense of American citizens' safety. Mayor Baraka learned this lesson the hard way when he was arrested for trespassing after repeatedly ignoring warnings from Homeland Security officials.

But it gets even worse. Rep. LaMonica McIver was caught on video physically confronting ICE agents outside the facility. A sitting member of Congress assaulted federal officers while trying to interfere with the detention of criminal illegals.
Let that sink in a minute.
The Democrats’ priorities couldn’t be clearer: they’d rather go to bat for MS-13 thugs and violent criminals than stand up for innocent American lives. While President Trump is working around the clock to prevent brutal tragedies such as the murders of Laken Riley, Rachel Morin, and Jocelyn Nungaray, Democrats are busy fighting to bring criminal illegal aliens back into the country or trying to keep them here.
"As always, Democrats are prioritizing the welfare of illegal aliens over American citizens — except now they're crossing the line between meaningless political street theatre and outright breaking the law," White House spokesman Kush Desai told Fox News Digital.
Under President Trump's leadership, illegal border crossings have plummeted, and aggressive deportation efforts are removing the criminal elements that plagued our communities during the Biden years. Yet somehow, Democrats think their political futures lie in defending the very people who pose the greatest threat to American citizens.
This incident proves once again that Democrats will stop at nothing to undermine President Trump's successful border policies. But with each passing day, their radical pro-illegal immigration stance becomes more indefensible. The American people can see exactly where their priorities lie — and it's not with law-abiding citizens.
