The left’s obsession with Elon Musk has officially jumped the shark. From vandalizing Tesla dealerships to lobbing Molotov cocktails, the reactions have been nothing short of unhinged. Reports of Tesla lots being shot at and firebombed have surfaced, as if Musk personally offended every leftist by simply existing. And for what? Because he took charge of DOGE and dared to shake up the status quo? Please.
Musk’s real sin, in the eyes of the left, is his relentless pursuit of efficiency. He’s slashing waste, fraud, and abuse—things the left once claimed to care about. Instead of applauding him, they’ve turned him into Public Enemy No. 2—behind none other than Donald Trump. And nowhere is this more evident than in the virtue-signaling circus of celebrities and politicians ditching their Teslas as if it were some grand moral stand.
And so they’re ditching the vehicles they once bought to virtue-signal their environmentalism to virtue-signal their opposition to DOGE.
Take Sheryl Crow, for instance. She sold her Tesla and pledged the proceeds to NPR, unwittingly proving Musk’s point that the government doesn’t need to fund public radio.
Then there’s Alyssa Milano, who traded her Tesla for a Volkswagen electric vehicle in 2022 to protest “hate and white supremacy” after Musk bought Twitter. Yes, Volkswagen—a company engineered under Adolf Hitler’s regime in the 1930s. Oh, the irony. Milano’s fighting “hate” by cozying up to a brand with Nazi roots. You can’t make this stuff up.

And now, Senator Mark Kelly (D-Ariz.) has jumped on the Musk-hating bandwagon. He announced he’s dumping his Tesla, whining on X, a platform that Musk owns, “I bought a Tesla because it was fast like a rocket ship. But now every time I drive it, I feel like a rolling billboard for a man dismantling our government and hurting people. So Tesla, you’re fired!”

In a video, he doubled down, claiming his decision was about the “damage” Musk and Donald Trump are doing to the country. Kelly even tossed out tired, fabricated talking points, accusing them of trying to slash social security and healthcare benefits—despite Trump repeatedly saying he has no intention of touching social security. Facts? Who needs ‘em when you’ve got a narrative to push?
Kelly called Musk an “a—hole” and said he didn’t want to drive a car built by one. But here’s the kicker: Kelly didn’t replace his zero-emission Tesla with another eco-friendly ride. Nope. He opted for a gas-guzzling Chevy Tahoe Z71, a beast that gets a pathetic 15 mpg in the city and 20 mpg on the highway, depending on which configuration you get.

So much for caring about the environment, right? This is the same guy who once proudly touted his Tesla’s “zero emissions,” but apparently, “doing the right thing” now means ditching his green credentials just to virtue-signal his anti-DOGE stance.
For years, Democrats have tried to convince us that their environmentalism isn’t just about feel-good gestures—it’s based on their belief that climate change is real and poses an existential threat. But it turns out that’s not the case. Musk Derangement Syndrome has turned them into gas-guzzling hypocrites, and it’s both entertaining and troubling to witness. Their obsession with Musk and Trump isn’t just divisive—it’s downright pathological. And the most tragic part? They don’t even realize it.
