FACT-O-RAMA! I have learned that most people do not want the truth; they want their opinion to be correct, no matter how insane that opinion may be.
As I was sitting in my "office," I came across a bunch of libdolts whining about how and why We the People don't need guns. One moonbat suggested they are a sign of weakness. Of course, every clown stain went into manic panic mode over those big, scary automatic super-mega assault weapons — which, amazingly, no one could define.
The Facebook post began with this:
Unpopular opinion, yes it’s a constitutional right but let’s be real. They did not anticipate the idiocy of their future generations. Being from NY, we have bigger rats than most animals and bigger hoods than anywhere and I ain’t never need a gun, let alone a semi. We should have the right to protect our family and property but let’s be sane. #guncontrol #IdiotProof

The problem I find when dueling with gunophobes is that none of them know what they're talking about.
Many apparatchiks truly believe the following boom-boom stick flapdoodle:
- a semi-automatic rifle is an "assault weapon"
- a semi-automatic gun is a machine gun (fully automatic)
- "assault rifles" are used in most mass shootings
- most mass shootings are committed by angry white men
INCONVENIENT-FACT-O-RAMA! Most mass shootings are committed by black men.

Another myth, inarguably the dumbest yet, stemming from the gun dotards is the senile belief that people who own gats are weak, mousey types who can't fight. This is insanity.

Three armed miscreants shot and killed a man who fought back during a home invasion. Perhaps if he'd had a gun, he'd be alive today. Conversely, this homeowner shot and killed two masked clowns pretending to be cops.
As per Gun Violence Archive (GVA), there have been just over 900 defensive gun uses thus far in 2025.
GVA defines defensive gun use as:

In other words, if you brandish a gun and chase off a handful of reprobates but choose not to call the cops, your defensive gun use would not be included in these stats; thus, this number is likely low.
I closed out my Facebook fight club with the guntards by using a known leftist debate tactic and said, "Guns are like abortions; if you don't want one, don't have one, but don't keep me from getting one."
Some dope show responded with, "Abortions can't be used to slaughter school children."
I reminded zher/zhim that there are likely more than 900,000 abortions per year, and those kids will never make it to school.
Another gun-related myth is the belief that guns are the #1 killer of kids. This is a lie.
The mental bellyflops at Johns Hopkins University knows this is a lie. They also likely know that they can subvert the truth with tricky headlines, like this: "New Report Highlights U.S. 2022 Gun-Related Deaths: Firearms Remain Leading Cause of Death for Children and Teens, and Disproportionately Affect People of Color."
FACT-O-RAMA! Gun deaths proportionally affect people who use them in crimes. The less likely you are to commit a crime, the less likely you are to shoot someone or get shot.
The hallucination that guns are the #1 killer of kids comes out of some funky math and blatant lies.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) needed to demonize guns and slunk to some statistical skullduggery for "proof" that guns kill more kids than anything else.
The CDC did not count toddlers under one year old. They also added 18= and 19-year-olds, clearly adults, to reach this "statistic."
Your green-haired simp-in-law also likely doesn't know that a majority of gang violence is committed by 13-16-year-olds. Gang-related murders make up 13% of the nation's homicides. When you take gang violence out of the picture, the number of kids killed by guns drops dramatically.
In reality, car accidents kill more kids in the U.S. than anything else. Invite your commie milksop friends to drive no faster than 20 mph, no matter how far they are going, and watch the number of kids dying in car crashes plummet. When they whine, drop the same argument they used on you involving COVID-era masks: "If it saves even one life, why won't you do it?"
