Oregon Mom, Daughter Charged with Keeping Haitian Migrants as 'Indentured Servants'

I usually write about what sort of illegal aliens have been allowed to wreak havoc on Americans thanks to Biden's handlers and Kamala Harris. However, there are still people coming over here being victimized as well, whether they are being trafficked over the border as drug mules or sex slaves.

And apparently, in the case of three Haitians (two adults, one minor) up in Tigard, Oregon, being forced to work like regular slaves.

Marie Gertrude Jean Valmont and her daughter Yolandita Marie Andre were recently arrested for keeping these three unnamed Haitian people in Velinda's Care Home around as indentured servants.

Fox 12 Oregon described how the Haitians were brought to Portland last September and made to work long hours for basically no money and sleep on the floor. Another local news source says the three would work for 17 to 19 hours a day for around $2 an hour, and the minor was not paid at all.

If they tried to leave, Valmont and Andre stole their immigration paperwork. They would supposedly throw things at them and threaten to have them deported, arrange the murders of their families back in Haiti, arrested on theft charges, or even placed under a Vodou curse.

Valmont and Andre are denying the allegations and say the Haitians are making it up in a bid to stay here in the United States longer.

"We overheard conversations. They said something about a T visa, and I would research that. It’s like a program that you are a part of for three to four years, then after that, you can apply for a Green Card, but you can only get it if you can show you are a victim of abuse and cooperate with the police," Andre was quoted as saying.

The T Visa does indeed exist, and Andre's description is pretty accurate if USCIS's own website is anything to go by.

Andre also told local news source KGW (the one mentioned above) after being released from federal custody that the three alleged victims came to the US via Cuba, Haiti, Nicaragua, and Venezuela (CHNV) parole system and are seemingly related to Valmont and Andre.

It is ultimately not my place to determine who is right or wrong here. Still, the fact that this story even exists just demonstrates how unfettered immigration and the lack of border security really do not help anyone involved except those who want to exploit people, whether it is the cartels trafficking women and children into the country as sex slaves or forcing people to be drug mules, politicians keeping illegal aliens around as a permanent underclass of reliable voters, unscrupulous businesses using illegals as slave labor, or, of course, the dozens of cases of illegal aliens committing crimes we at PJ Media and the rest of our Townhall friends have covered.

The Department of Homeland (In)Security has lost track of over 320,000 children who have illegally crossed the border, sometimes multiple times with traffickers posing as their relatives, and over 662,000 illegal aliens with previous convictions, including 13,000 murderers and 15,000 rapists, have been allowed into the country because Kamala is border czar.

As of today, we have 37 days until Election Day. Vote accordingly.
