Spencer Pratt has done it again. He has cleverer and more memorable political messaging than most of the rest of the Republican Party combined.
While Democrats managed to "count" and harvest ballots long enough to shove Pratt out of a runoff race for Los Angeles mayor that he absolutely should have been in, Pratt hasn't faded quietly into the sunset. He has a new series of documentaries coming out on corruption in L.A. politics from his "War Foundation." And he's already promising mounds of dirt on his mayoral race opponents, Mayor Karen Bass (D) and Councilwoman Nithya Raman (D.S.A.).
I will restore the integrity of our democracy from the corrupt communists if it's the last thing I do.

I'm a commie-kaze pilot. https://t.co/5mclHGuWIb
Those who expose and fight Communism in America should call themselves "commie-kaze pilots." It's super catchy, and that's one area where Republicans often are weak: catchy terminology. But in the age of social media, it is more important than ever.
According to 2025 data from a Pew Research poll, about 36% of Americans have a positive view of socialism. That includes 57% of Democrats. A Gallup poll late in 2025 had even more worrisome results, indicating 39% of all Americans have a positive view of socialism, or almost one in four. And 46% of Americans ages 18 to 34 were positive on socialism, along with 47% of college graduates. In other words, young people, especially college grads, are the most likely to admire socialism, which is just a watered-down version of Communism. If we don't want to see a whole lot of Zohran Mamdanis taking over America in the future, we need to educate young voters more effectively on the evils of socialism.
Of course, the overwhelming majority of Americans who say they view socialism favorably have no idea what that ideology actually represents. They have some vague, rosy idea that socialism means everyone having plenty of money and guaranteed housing and healthcare, without ever stopping to ask where the money comes from or whether guaranteed housing and healthcare implies a sort of slavery — work owed regardless of ability to pay.
For Our VIPs: The Cruel Consequences of Sanctioned Idleness
These socialism-lovers either do not know about or simply deny the importance of the overwhelming evidence that socialism/Communism destroys countries. Marxism is responsible for more mass murders than any other ideology in human history. It has caused famines, economic collapse, government tyranny, and societal fracture everywhere it has taken hold. Most young Americans who claim to love socialism know zero facts about Joseph Stalin, Pol Pot, Mao Zedong, or Ho Chi Minh. We need much better history education in the U.S. But part of that is dependent on how effectively anti-Commies can catch the attention of Americans online with unforgettable messaging.
That's why "commie-kaze" is clever. What makes it better is that Pratt doesn't have just one hit phrase or ad. His AI ads are the talk of the country, and his social media posts cause national furor. His latest name for Bass after the fire at the food plant that left heaps of rotting food is "Lord of the Flies."

Ahead of the midterm elections, the GOP could take some pointers from Spencer Pratt.
