If a man habitually lies to himself and to others, it will lead him to commit numerous cruel, selfish, and outright bestial acts.
In Dostoevsky’s classic The Brothers Karamazov, we find the following interesting passage: “A man who lies to himself, and believes his own lies becomes unable to recognize truth, either in himself or in anyone else, and he ends up losing respect for himself and for others. When he has no respect for anyone, he can no longer love, and, in order to divert himself, having no love in him, he yields to his impulses, indulges in the lowest forms of pleasure, and behaves in the end like an animal. And it all comes from lying — lying to others and to yourself.”
I think this passage is actually very illuminating in understanding Democrats' moral degradation. The Democrat Party has always made lying about themselves and political opponents an absolutely key part of their political strategy ever since the first Democrat President Andrew Jackson's shameful and shameless slander against John Quincy Adams, but over the years they have grown ever more dishonest. At the present time, the Democrat Party literally cannot win elections or keep supporters without relying on the most blatant and despicable lies.
Some of the Democrat leaders know they are lying to their supporters, and some actually seem to believe their own lies. All of them fall for their own half-truths and thorough deceptions to the extent that they think they are justified in committing crimes on a mass scale, and ruining millions of people's lives, in pursuit of their own power and pleasure. And here again we see the accuracy of Dostoevsky's observation.

As he said, the habitual liar cannot truly love, and so becomes a slave to his passions and impulses, growing ever more like an animal as he clouds the reason and rectitude that set man apart from all other living beings.
It's not merely that Democrats are self-centered, they throw themselves wholly behind the most perverted pleasures, as Dostoevsky's passage predicted. They revel in the dismemberment of unborn babies for purely selfish reasons, they mutilate children and call it "healthcare," they gloat over Islamic terrorists' massacres, and they glorify homosexuality and other unnatural sexual lifestyles. They call the LGBTQ movement one of "Pride" for a reason. Democrats want everyone to know that they are sexualizing little kids and indulging in the most anti-Judeo-Christian bodily acts. Like Satan, they reject humility, self-sacrifice, holiness, and compassion. After all, Satan is the Father of Lies (John 8:44), so anyone who makes lying an habitual part of his life is committing to a demonic ideology.
But also like Satan, leftists should beware that pride goeth before a fall (Proverbs 16:18). And perhaps we conservatives can take heed from Dostoevsky's warning too. After all, every man sins, and it is important that we not fall into the same moral traps that have caught our opponents. Leftists are fighting this culture war with a malevolent frenzy. It is only by constantly prioritizing truth rather than political convenience or compromise that we can win.
As Jordan Peterson would say, if we cannot put our own lives — and souls — in order, how can we bring order to the world around us?
