Congress had a chance to defund the woke D.C. courts, which have overstepped their authority and terrorized Americans, but for some reason, dozens of Republicans were terrified of even that much accountability.
One of the consistent and disappointing flaws of the Republican Party is that there are always GOP politicians eager to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory when it comes to holding the corrupt accountable. Judge James Boasberg has repeatedly and unjustly ordered the return of violent criminals to America or a halt to deportations of such criminals, while also shielding Democrats from consequences for weaponized justice, and in light of his actions, he really ought to be impeached. But Congress won't defund him, thanks to 46 Republicans.
Rep. Keith Self (R-Texas) posted angrily on X Jan. 14, “46 Republicans just voted against @RepChipRoy’s amendment defunding the D.C. federal courts and Judge Boasberg and Boardman’s offices and operations.”
He continued, “These are the same judges and courts who ordered the return of deported gang members, greenlit the surveillance of Republicans, and used ‘gender identity’ to justify going easy on Justice Kavanaugh’s would-be assassin. Absolutely disturbing that any Republican would vote against this amendment. The American people expect us to end woke and weaponized government spending, NOT fund it!”

The D.C. courts became infamous in recent years for the weaponization of justice against the Jan. 6 protesters, who were harshly sentenced even as violent crime became out of control in our capital, and the courts let many of those criminals go free repeatedly. And yet somehow we taxpayers are still required to fund all of these people endangering citizens and flouting our Constitution? Why?
Let us review some reasons Boasberg, in particular, should be defunded and impeached, shall we? Recently, in December, Boasberg ordered the Trump administration to return more than 130 Tren de Aragua terrorists to the United States, falsely citing due process rights, even though illegal aliens do not have constitutional rights. In fact, Boasberg spent a considerable portion of last year trying to stop Trump from deporting illegal alien gang members and violent criminals.
Also in December 2025, Boasberg ordered the FBI to destroy vital evidence against James Comey and his role in obstructing the investigation into the Russia collusion hoax. Boasberg was further complicit in the Arctic Frost Biden Justice Department campaign to spy on so many Republicans. It would be hard to find a judge more blatantly biased and uninterested in the actual laws than Boasberg, nor one so confident that he should be allowed to trample the will of American voters.
The only time that lawless leftists care about pulling back on their harmful actions and falling in line with the laws is when they themselves suffer some consequence, such as defunding or impeachment. Until and unless those 46 Republicans become willing to penalize Boasberg, as he richly deserves, the judge will continue to thwart justice for both American and foreign criminals at every single opportunity.
