Leftists Protest in Support of Dictator Maduro Rather Than Iranian Freedom Fighters

Iranians are rising up across Iran to protest the terror-sponsoring Islamic regime and demand the return of the shah, in spite of murderous crackdowns from Iranian government thugs. But for whom are American leftists protesting this weekend? For narcoterrorist kingpin and captured dictator Nicolás Maduro.

We all know leftists are hypocrites, but the ridiculous protests against the Trump administration's capture of Maduro this weekend — when Iranian freedom protests are making headlines — illustrate with painful clarity how truly morally bankrupt the American left is. From Kamala Harris and Sen. Chris Van Hollen on down to the Karens calling to "free Maduro" in dozens of cities, Democrats and socialists in America are deliberately identifying themselves with a murderous dictator while ignoring victims of tyranny.

Many of the protestors across America are almost certainly paid; that's why they all have the same pre-printed signs. But hundreds of thousands of leftists genuinely believe they are standing against tyranny and in favor of freedom when they denounce Donald Trump and express empathy with Maduro. It would be hilarious if these people did not have the power to sway our own elections here in the United States.

In Los Angeles, California, which has been a hotspot of riots ever since Trump took office, activist Sean Wakasan bloviated, “Venezuela is a sovereign nation and it's not just in our jurisdiction. No one else has a right to overthrow the government and say who should be leading them or not.” He’s evidently suffering from the delusion that Maduro was a legitimate ruler who didn't stay in power regardless of election results. If only Wakasan could tell the overjoyed Venezuelans celebrating Maduro's fall from Caracas to Madrid to Miami that their sovereignty was violated and their will trampled because the oppressive regime that persecuted them was toppled.

But Wakasan's inane ramblings are illustrative of the sort of brainwashed derangement characteristic of the left. The reality is that he and his fellow lefties are rallying for Maduro because Donald Trump captured the dictator. This really is little more than a violent outburst of Trump Derangement Syndrome. The leftist protestors don't care how illegitimate, evil, and dangerous Maduro was, nor would it occur to them to find out if Venezuelans support Maduro. The protests are a trigger reaction to a Trump success.

Likewise, leftists are not going to rally in support of Iranian protestors because it is an established dictum of leftism now that Islamic jihadis must always be defended. After more than two years of massive protests across America in favor of genocidal Hamas terrorists, and countless attacks on Jews and Jewish organizations, that couldn't be more clear. But leftists not only defend Hamas, they also cover up for jihadis in multiple other African and Asian nations. That includes Iran.

The West's mainstream media, when it acknowledges the protests in Iran, pretends this uprising in Iran is purely economic, a reaction to rising cost of living. The New York Times, Sky News, NBC News, France24, Reuters, and even the New York Post all defined the uprising as financially sparked unrest, totally ignoring what Iranians themselves are chanting. Decades of sharia tyranny and murder, including the intensified political and religious persecutions of the past year, spurred the protests. The Iranian people are tired of their Islamic dictators. They want regime change.

But don't expect to see any leftist protests in support of the Iranian — or the Venezuelan people, for that matter. American leftists are only galvanized when dictators are facing justice.
