The new Israel-Gaza deal is supposed to allow the Palestinian Authority to eventually take control of Gaza again. That would be the same Palestinian Authority (PA) that just rewarded newly released mass-murdering terrorists with $70 million in pay-for-slay payouts.
Here at PJ Media, we reported how over 150 of the life-sentence jihadis (i.e., they each killed multiple Israelis) traded for the much-abused Israeli hostages came home to Gaza as automatic millionaires. But that is not a fact you will find on many news outlets, because it highlights an inconvenient truth about the PA and the overwhelming obsession with jihad among Gazans. Or, in other words, we are not talking about a society where the authorities and most of their civilians oppose terrorism, we are talking about a society where terrorism is the one consuming goal and obsession of the majority of the population and all its authorities.
Many countries around the world, including and especially the United States of America, have poured billions of dollars into Gaza. That continues to be true — your taxpayer dollars and mine to the tune of tens of millions are funding the goodies that the PA and Hamas terrorists seize and then apply to terrorism.

Why is that acceptable? Where is the outrage in America and other Western countries over the $70 million waiting to welcome home the 250 life-sentence jihadis reluctantly released by Israel in exchange for the 20 Israeli hostages not yet killed by Hamas?

The Palestinian Authority (PA) paid these same terrorists, many of them from Hamas, a collective $70 million.

Until pay-for-slay no longer exists, not a penny more should go to the PA, which, in fact, should be dismantled just as Hamas should. Why? Because the PA never will end the program, just as Hamas will never stop trying to wipe Israel off the map. The PA believes in antisemitic jihad just as much as Hamas or any of the other explicitly terrorist groups. Indeed, Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas affirmed in February that as long as the PA had a single penny left, it would go to pay-for-slay. That is how seriously Abbas takes the injunctions of Islamic sacred texts to kill Jews.

And, much more recently, the PA invited Hamas to unify with it, so don’t expect any changes. Yes, the PA promised to reform, but it has done so before, and it always lives up — or rather down — to the Islamic doctrine of “taqiyya,” which makes it permissible to lie to one’s opponents to undermine them. The fact that the PA had $70 million waiting for the terrorists who tortured and murdered dozens of Israelis just proves my point. How can we trust a single promise made by these people? We cannot, and there’s the rub.
Pay-for-slay is as strong and alive as ever — unlike the victims of the terrorists living high off its payouts.
