Disgusting: CNN’s Amanpour Suggests Israeli Hostages Were Better Off Than Most Gazans

However much you despise the leftist mainstream media, it is not nearly enough. CNN’s Christiane Amanpour decided to mark the return of the 20 Israeli hostages left alive after over two years of Hamas captivity by belittling their suffering.

Previously released Israeli hostages testified to the fact that they were physically abused while in captivity, and we know the women were sexually abused. Hostages recalled how terrorists would gorge themselves on the food that has perpetually poured into Gaza even while starving the hostages, reducing many of them to skeletal dimensions. In some cases, terrorists mocked hostages by describing the murders of their loved ones or forcing them to participate in propaganda videos. Many of the hostages died in captivity.

But Amanpour is so fixated on empathizing with the jihad-loving Gazans, who overwhelmingly support terrorism, and she is so callous about the suffering of Israelis, that she could not even hold back the propaganda for a single day. Her comment claiming Israeli hostages were better treated than ordinary Gazans garnered so much backlash that even she has already backtracked.

Israel went out of its way to spare Gazan civilians (even endangering its own soldiers), it generously poured aid into Gaza, and Hamas and the terror-funding Palestinian Authority (PA) remain in control in the Gaza Strip. But leftist media hacks do not care about the right and wrong of the conflict; they care about pushing their false narrative that Jews, who possessed the land many centuries before Islam was invented, are the invading oppressors, while the Muslim Arabs are the poor, indigenous, oppressed people.

Amanpour pontificated on CNN about the hostages: “They’ve probably been treated better than the average Gazan because they are the pawns and chips that Hamas had.”

As noted above, even Amanpour has already realized what a shameful claim she made. She admitted of the hostages, “They've told me their stories of barely being able to breathe in the tunnels, not being allowed to cry, being starved and made to dig their own graves – and of course today, some of the hostages are coming back in body bags.”

Evyatar David digging his own grave, Eli Sharabi starved by terrorists who never told him they had murdered his wife and children, the Bibas babies being tortuously murdered in the tunnels, the women captives being raped repeatedly by gleeful jihadis — no condemnation is strong enough for downplaying these horrors.

The deeper problem here is that regardless of her apology, her first reaction as Israeli hostages finally emerged from the tunnels was to downplay what they had undergone. Just as numerous media figures did during and after the Charlie Kirk assassination, Amanpour let her mask slip, and we saw the soulless propagandist underneath.
