On the anniversary of the death of the great Irish independence leader Red Hugh O’Donnell, one cannot help but ask if any leaders will arise to save Ireland and the rest of Europe from the globalist crisis afflicting them.
Churches burn in France, Muslims predominate in London, illegal aliens assault Irish citizens while their government turns a blind eye, and rape gangs roam the streets of German cities. Many of the citizens in these countries are awake to the crisis, but they need political leaders who are willing to stand up for them. So far, those seem to be disturbingly lacking. Where is the Hugh O’Donnell of the 21st century?
“Red Hugh” was the O'Donnell King of Tyrconnell (modern Donegal) in Ireland, married to the daughter of the O’Neill Earl of Tyrone, thus binding the traditional enemies, the O’Neills and O’Donnells. That enabled him to put aside internecine warfare in Ireland and bring together many Irish warriors, who proved to be a strong threat to English rule in Ireland.
Hugh himself was kidnapped and imprisoned in Dublin Castle, but he eventually managed a daring escape along with two O’Neills. He proved himself a formidable foe against England, but while seeking more support in Spain, which, like Ireland, was Catholic, Hugh suddenly died on Aug. 30 of 1602, quite possibly via assassination by poison.
O’Donnell was long a symbol of the struggle for independence and freedom in Ireland against a bitterly hostile foreign foe that was occupying their territory. Yet now the Irish government has itself welcomed in an occupying and hostile foreign force by allowing in masses of illegal aliens, particularly Muslims. And the rest of Europe is equally overrun.

This past week, I visited Paris and Normandy. While the native French still mainly inhabit Normandy, with very few Muslims (at least in the smaller towns), you cannot open your eyes in Paris without seeing Muslims. They dominate the Champs-Élysées, they swarm at the Eiffel Tower, and they are at every corner of the Louvre. Obviously, many of these Muslims are not violent jihadis, but the overwhelming majority of them do have religious and cultural beliefs hostile to traditional French religion and culture. Islam inherently is opposed to Christian civilization, so this could not be otherwise.

I noted the same phenomenon last year in London, and both London and Paris were enthusiastically advertising the artwork of Israel-hating, pro-Hamas graffiti “artist” Banksy. Trafalgar Square was one solid, seething mass of Muslims waving Palestinian flags, climbing monuments, and screaming their support for antisemitic terrorism.
In Lisbon, Portugal, my Bangladeshi Uber driver, who did not speak Portuguese, calmly told me of his fellow Muslim migrants, “We are going to take over.” He plans to have as many children as possible and scoffed that the Portuguese no longer have large families. When he has children, he intends to send them to specifically Muslim schools within the ever-burgeoning Bangladeshi community in Portugal.
Unless the spirit of Red Hugh O’Donnell arises again within Ireland and other European nations, that continent will soon become little more than a vast Muslim dictatorship.
