Dems Hate Guns and Prayer. The Founders Loved Them.

Democrats put their violent and irrational hatred for prayer and guns on full display this week. Their opinions could not be more opposite to those of the great men who founded our nation.

All of the Founding Fathers emphasized the importance of the right to keep and bear arms, and most of them also insisted that America could only survive and thrive if it were a religious nation. The Democrats, the anti-American party, have taken off the mask and exposed just how anti-gun, anti-religion, and therefore anti-American they are.

Thomas Jefferson once highlighted the quote, “Laws that forbid the carrying of arms ... disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes. Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed one.”

Of course, since Democrats have pro-crime policies, they really don’t care if people get killed. But they do want to take away guns so that only the powers-that-be have weapons. That is why they exploit every mass shooting, like the tragic Minneapolis Catholic school shooting on Wednesday, as an excuse to push gun control.

For instance, Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Hamas), the same who is delighted for Islamic jihadis to have guns, shrilled that leaders are “more concerned with appeasing the gun lobby than keeping our children safe.” Minnesota state legislators from the Democrat Party immediately demanded stricter restrictions on gun ownership. By the Democrats’ logic, we’d have to ban cars, knives, sticks, and rocks because criminals use all of those to kill people.

Then again, Dems probably would be happy to ban most of those things for everyone but the elites. Since 94% of mass shootings occurred in gun-free zones, we know guns are not the problem. The problem is that we have stopped being a country valuing religion and morality and have become a country filled with divisions and with politics usurping the role of religion. Robert Westman shot Catholic schoolchildren because he was a transgender who hated Catholics, not because he was able to buy a gun.

Yet after the shooting, Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey defended transgenderism and sneered at prayer, lecturing, “Don’t just say, this is about thoughts and prayers right now. These kids were literally praying.” He couldn’t even hide his hatred for Judeo-Christian religion and his manic obsession with the trans lie long enough to fake empathy for Catholic children whom a transgender shooter murdered.

Former Biden White House press secretary Jen Psaki had to foist her own atheism onto us after the shooting as she raved that prayer is ineffectual. “Prayer is not freaking enough.  Prayers does not end school shootings. prayers [sic] do not make parents feel safe sending their kids to school. Prayer does not bring these kids back. Enough with the thoughts and prayers,” she nastily pontificated in an X post.

“Journalist” Michael Tracey mocked, “Some kind of directive apparently went out and now everybody on the Right believes that Demons are actively interfering in earthly political affairs. Awesome stuff.” Apparently, he is unaware that the Bible repeatedly warns us of demonic influence on earth (e.g., Ephesians 6:12, 1 Peter 5:8, Matthew 8:28ff). Either that or he just despises the Bible so much that he thinks anyone who reads it is an idiot.

Contrast that with the Founders’ views. I particularly recommend George Washington‘s beautiful prayer for America, which I say every day. “Of all the dispositions and habits which lead to political prosperity, Religion and morality are indispensable supports,” Washington affirmed. Thomas Jefferson, meanwhile, wrote, “God who gave us life gave us liberty. Can the liberties of a nation be secure when we have removed a conviction that these liberties are the gift of God?” John Jay was the president of the American Bible Society. John Adams stated, “Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people.”

And until and unless we are a moral and religious people once again, despite Democrat efforts to the contrary, we can expect more attacks on our rights and more deadly crimes.
