What do you call an insensitive idiot who wastes time just after a mass shooting, pushing people to affirm the warped ideology of the murderer? A CNN anchor.
Augustine of Hippo, the holy theologian and philosopher whom the Catholic Church honors today, once warned, “But we must beware of the man who abounds in eloquent nonsense.” Now, Jake Tapper is not exactly eloquent, but he certainly abounds in wordy nonsense. Just witness his fixation, after the horrific Wednesday shooting at a Catholic school by a transgender, on demanding that people refer to the male shooter with female pronouns.
Rambling in his usual verbose insipidity on CNN, Tapper lectured, “Another piece of the puzzle as to who the shooter was, Minneapolis Star Tribune says, according to court records — because there's been some confusion about what the shooter's name was, ‘Robin’ Westman's mother applied to change her child's name in 2019.”

Tapper continued to spew his pedantic fatuity: “It was at one point Robert Paul Westman, but since ‘she’ identifies as a female, and wants ‘her’ name to reflect that identification (‘she’ was underage) it's now Robin Westman.”

No, it’s not. The law might allow mentally ill individuals to alter their names, but they cannot alter their biology. Robert Westman was always, regardless of the LGBTQ ideology with which he had been indoctrinated, a man.
Furthermore, Robert Westman killed two children and injured more than a dozen others (along with several adults), completely innocent kids who were at Mass before classes started on their first day at Annunciation Catholic School. That is the salient point, the point that matters. Who cares whether Westman felt like a woman or would’ve wanted to use female pronouns? Who cares whether he or his mother applied for the name change? He was a murderer, and he does not deserve the compliment of affirming his warped ideology after his death.
But this is so typical of leftists. Whenever a crime occurs, they always seem to be concerned about the criminal rather than the victim. Sure, they might pay lip service to compassion for the bereaved, but their true focus always eventually comes out. Like Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey, who denigrated prayer as a response to the tragedy and whined about criticism of Westman’s transgender ideology, Tapper is letting the mask slip and exposing how he has to make every crisis about his own pernicious beliefs.
Abortion, illegal immigration, pro-crime policies, pro-terror rhetoric, and LGBTQ propaganda all highlight the fact that Democrats simply do not care about individual life. They are willing to sacrifice other Americans on the altar of their ideology. In fact, Democrats have always been willing to do so — that is why they have always been such an anti-American party. Only now they have expanded their callousness from that against black people and zealous political opponents to that against every American outside their own small groups of family and colleagues.
Tapper should be ashamed of himself. But then again, he works for CNN, so by definition, he has no shame.
