As evidence indicates that Israeli hostage Baby Kfir, his brother, and his mother died in Hamas captivity, we see clearly the horrific cruelty of Islamic jihadis hailed by their “civilians” and defended by Westerners for massacring the most innocent.
Two millennia ago, the evil King Herod massacred the babies of Bethlehem, the Holy Innocents, in his crazed fear of the birth of the Messiah (Matthew 2:16). And though the Messiah, the God-man Christ, survived that massacre, He was born to die and would one day be crucified for our sins. Today in the Catholic, Orthodox, and some Protestant traditions is the feast of Christ’s Presentation in the Temple, when the holy Simeon prophesied the terrible suffering Mary would undergo when her baby grew up and was killed (Luke 2:35). Now in Israel, the land of the Bible, Islamic terrorists wish to wipe out Jews and Christians, and both those murdered and those taken hostage on Oct. 7 are the innocents of our day, from the babies like Kfir to the adults like his parents.

The state of Israel’s X account on Feb. 1 highlighted the tragic news, “Yarden Bibas is finally home—but his wife, Shiri, and their children, Kfir and Ariel, are not with him. We stand with Yarden and the entire Bibas family. Share this for Yarden, Shiri, Kfir, and Ariel.” On Oct. 7, Hamas burned alive and beheaded babies and young children. In Hamas captivity, Israeli youth were reportedly forced into sexual acts and brutally abused. Their blood cries out to God, the God of Israel, for justice (Genesis 4:10).

The Times of Israel reported that Yarden’s Hamas captors inflicted the horrific psychological torture on him of repeatedly and heartlessly discussing his wife and little children. The heartbroken father was even “compelled to film a video after his captors told him that his wife and young children had been killed in an IDF airstrike.”

These jihadis are unspeakably sick. Yet the majority of Palestinians still support jihad, and just as huge mobs of them poured into the streets to cheer with ecstasy after the Oct. 7 atrocities, groups of Gazans have turned out to jeer at Israeli hostages finally being sent home. After all, Islamic sacred texts explicitly endorse the rape and killing of non-Muslims, particularly Jews. Radical Islam is a death cult, which glorifies the murder of innocents as worship of god. As Mosab Hassan Yousef, the son of Hamas cofounder Shiehk Hassan Yousef, warned America, “I personally don’t differentiate between Hamas and what’s so-called ‘Palestinians.’”

Yet many Westerners, both activists and politicians, have sided with the Palestinian death cultists, including the new vice chair of the DNC, David Hogg (who wants to confiscate your guns but sympathizes with Islamic terrorists who kill babies like Kfir). These useful idiots, as Yousef said, belong in an insane asylum. Of course, America has its own massacre of the innocents, with over 63 million babies killed by abortion in the last 50 years, so perhaps some Americans’ empathy with jihad-loving Gazans is not shocking.

Christ was born and the Holy Innocents were murdered in Bethlehem. When I visited Palestinian-controlled Bethlehem only a month before the Oct. 7 massacre, many of the walls were completely covered in pro-jihad, anti-Semitic, anti-American graffiti. The city of David, the birthplace of the great Jewish king and his descendant the Messiah, is now a hotbed of genocidal hatred against Jews.

Baby Kfir likely never lived to see his first birthday. This precious baby, his toddler brother, and his mother became victims of the genocidal attack of Oct. 7, our modern day massacre of the innocents.
