‘Gentle parenting your transphobic uncle at Thanksgiving’
In a TikTok video repurposed for X captioned “gentle parenting your transphobic uncle at Thanksgiving,” “Mrs. Frazzled” role-plays a conversation with an off-camera transphobic uncle over the holiday dinner table, whom she belittles for having veneers and condescendingly refers to as “silly goosey” for apparently misgendering some hypothetical tranny:
No, thank you Uncle Mark. Try again with kind words or we're going to take a break from this conversation. We use the names that people tell us, remember? They are telling you who they are... you just need to use your listening ears, friend!
Did they give YOU trouble about YOUR new hairline or veneers or LASIK?? NO!! So YOU can mind your own body, got it? Got IT?! You... you actually don't need to get it, because it's not your job to be the gender police, silly goosey!
Oh, that is an inside thought!! Catch a bubble, please? No no NO, they are who THEY ARE and WE are NOT going to pretend otherwise because YOU are uncomfortable. So why don't we do two minutes in the calm down corner?

Obviously, this lady intended the above as easily digestible slop for her liberal audience dunking on the ignorant Deplorables, as embodied by the “drunk conservative uncle at Thanksgiving” trope.
But, inadvertently, her performance serves as the perfect microcosm of the pathological white affluent female liberal (AWFL) approach to politics.
Take note of:
- The infantilization (she is the mommy and all the people at the dinner table, even family members much senior to her, are her children to be re-educated for wrongthink)
- The condescension
- The dripping disdain and mockery of the white male boogeyman
- The prioritization of empathy over rationality
- The unblinking, manic pharmaceutical eyes (I would literally bet the farm, if I had one, that this lady is currently prescribed at least one but probably multiple psychotropic drugs)

After more research, it turns out that the woman in the video, Arielle Fodor, is a former kindergarten teacher turned TikTok star, which very deliberately informed her approach to political content.

While kindergarten teaching and aggressive right-wing politics might not seem compatible, this isn’t Fodor’s first time receiving backlash for her videos. She began her TikTok account, @mrs.frazzled, in 2020 during the Covid-19 pandemic, making short clips and humorous skits about kindergarten, like captivating the attention of an unruly class during virtual sessions, and how to cope with teacher burnout. But after a chance joke with some friends — “Wouldn’t it be so funny if we talked to our partner like they were a kindergartner, or a person with road rage like they were a kindergartner?”— Fodor’s biggest videos became “tongue-in-cheek” clips about speaking to former President Donald Trump in an affected “teacher voice.” Following their success, she quickly added more political content to her repertoire, using her teaching satire to poke fun at the absurdity of large political events or contentious decisions — building a devoted following 1.3 million followers deep.
“[My content] exposes the absurdity of things that people are prejudiced against,” Fodor explains to Rolling Stone. “When you treat them like a child, a tongue in cheek kind of talking down to them, the things that some people spend their time and hatred on lose [their] power.”
If engagement farming is the prime objective (which it actually is), then of course this kind of ultra-cringe own-the-Deplorables culture war slop is going to garner clicks. (She got me to not just hate-click but write an article about it, so mission accomplished.)
If, however, winning hearts and minds for the Democrat cause is the goal, as it ostensibly is, then talking down to adults like they’re toddlers in the service of dismissing whatever concerns they might have about trannies hijacking women’s sports or any number of issues is probably the most counterproductive strategy possible.
