Chronicling the ongoing intersectional struggle to liberate women — inclusively defined as the legacy kind and the transgenders — from The Patriarchy™, one microaggression at a time.

Married women burdened by disproportionate share of ‘cognitive work’: Sociologist

We’ve all been made to hear — ad nauseam — about the tragedy of disproportionate household work falling on the shoulders of legacy women in the oppressive patriarchal institution of marriage.

However, if not for the heroic work of professional feminists, we might not be aware of a distinct but related concept invented by feminist academics in order to henpeck men: “cognitive household labor.”

Sociology professor Allison Daminger explains the concept of “cognitive household labor” and how heteronormative male bigots can “learn a lot from LGBTQ+ couples’ approaches to cognitive household labor.”

Via Psychology Today (emphasis added):

Allison Daminger, a professor of sociology at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, draws on extensive interviews with 76 different gender and 18 LGBTQ+ couples to provide an informative analysis of the near-constant “background job” of cognitive (non-physical) labor in families. Daminger demonstrates that although many Americans endorse gender equality, a substantial majority of women do most of the cognitive (and more than their fair share of the physical) work. She explains why and suggests how a more balanced allocation of responsibilities might be achieved…

Studies of housework tend to focus on concrete tasks, including cooking and cleaning, that are relatively easy to measure in minutes and hours. By contrast, Daminger emphasizes, cognitive labor involves “anticipating issues, identifying options, making decisions and monitoring results.” When a man takes on chores, his spouse often tells him what to pack in their child’s lunch box or reminds him to buy a birthday card for Aunt Susie. Often invisible, difficult or impossible to schedule, and never really done, mental work can be a lot more stressful than physical labor

Organizations and individuals have important roles to play. They can begin by recognizing that problems exist; avoiding reinforcement of gender stereotypes; and initiating conversations among more diverse audiences instead of branding, trivializing and ultimately ignoring them because they are women’s issues. They can learn a lot from LGBTQ+ couples’ approaches to cognitive household labor.

The most obvious immediate follow-up question is: “What is a woman?” — one for which feminist academics and DEI Supreme Court justices have a notoriously difficult time coming up with the answer.

I might not have a physics degree, but I’m aware that one is supposed to define one’s variables in any experiment. Given that these people have no idea what a woman is, their flawed study design would seem to render their findings useless.

Also, isn’t it weird that all of the forms of novel labor that women allegedly perform are non-quantifiable? How convenient that “household cognitive labor” is impossible to quantify objectively, instead left to the vivid imagination of the women, their browbeaten husbands, and random trannies handpicked by the sociology professor to complain about their problems.

The Science™!

Hysterical lib woman posts TikTok meltdown, ‘too scared to use dating apps now’ out of fear of crypto-MAGA men

Parsing the actual issue that triggered this woman’s tantrum is difficult because she’s really laying the waterworks on heavy.

However, the gist appears to be that she’s afraid to use dating apps because one of the men who messages her, even though he might appear “normal” (by which she presumably means a Democrat abortion supporter who wears a mask alone in his Prius), might actually be an undercover “emboldened” Trump supporter — a literal Nazi!

Mind you, she could have waited until her emotional diarrhea stopped so she could produce a TikTok video in an intelligible manner, for the benefit of the audience. But a rational explanation sans the waterworks might not have the dramatic flair she was hoping for, might not convey the proper degree of victimization she feels by men who don’t share her politics being allowed to exist in society.

TikTok lib just wants boyfriend who voted for Kamala Harris

I don’t think there’s anything harder than finding a liberal boyfriend. Where is he?... It’s such a problem for me… Not even a liberal, like maybe, like a Democrat, like a registered Democrat. I just want to find a dude who voted for Kamala Harris.

I might humbly suggest that there’s a simple statistical explanation for this lady’s problem: a huge proportion of male Kamala Harris voters are either transgender or homosexual.

Also, most of the normal men in her age bracket learned a long time ago that the Democrat party hates them, and no amount of social brownie points from TikTok feminists is enough to lure them back into the tent.

They understand that when things go south with such a specimen as depicted in the video — and they certainly will — she’s liable to claim he raped her, strap a mattress to her back, and carry it around in public for months for social clout and an invitation to Democracy Now!
