As of today, March 27, the estimated number of chickens slaughtered for bird flu — not birds that had bird flu; birds that happened to be in a flock from which scientists scared up a positive PCR test — is closer to 200 million than 100 million and growing by the day.
(The nation’s vaunted Public Health™ experts repeatedly claim, as parroted by corporate state media, that almost 170 million chickens have been killed “due to bird flu,” when, in fact, they have been killed due to the heavy-handed Public Health™ response to bird flu. This is the same playbook they used to claim that a virus caused lockdowns when it was government policy that caused lockdowns, using the virus as a pretext.)
Government policy, not bird flu, is why egg prices are excruciatingly high.

The highly lethal form of avian influenza circulating the globe since 2021 has killed tens of millions of birds, forced poultry farmers in the United States to slaughter entire flocks and prompted a brief but alarming spike in the price of eggs…
Last year, the Department of Agriculture paid poultry producers more than half a billion dollars for the turkeys, chickens and egg-laying hens they were forced to kill after the flu strain, H5N1, was detected on their farms…
The cullings are often done by turning up the heat in barns that house thousands of birds, a method that causes heat stroke and that many veterinarians and animal welfare organizations say results in unnecessary suffering.
In addition to giving condemned chickens heat strokes, another popular method is dousing them with firefighting foam until they suffocate.
The new HHS Secretary in the Golden Age, in lieu of an ongoing chicken holocaust, has offered a seemingly rational alternative that would not have the same economic impacts, not to mention moral peril.Related: MONSTER Bird Flu Update: Unprecedented Mammal-to-Mammal Transmission Confirmed
The Newspaper of Record isn’t having any of it.
They even go so far as to claim that not spraying the chickens with industrial agents in an industrial-scale slaughter for limited to no real public benefit is what’s “inhumane and dangerous.”
Via The New York Times (emphasis added):
Robert F. Kennedy Jr., the nation’s top health official, has an unorthodox idea for tackling the bird flu bedeviling U.S. poultry farms. Let the virus rip.
Instead of culling birds when the infection is discovered, farmers “should consider maybe the possibility of letting it run through the flock so that we can identify the birds, and preserve the birds, that are immune to it,” Mr. Kennedy said recently on Fox News.
He has repeated the idea in other interviews on the channel…
Veterinary scientists said letting the virus sweep through poultry flocks unchecked would be inhumane and dangerous, and have enormous economic consequences…
Since January 2022, there have been more than 1,600 outbreaks reported on farms and backyard flocks, occurring in every state. More than 166 million birds have been affected.
Notice the passive phrasing: “more than 166 million birds have been affected.” “Affected” by what or by whom? Do these government actors have no agency?
It’s not Public Health™ officials slaughtering chickens by the millions for dubious reasons; it’s some unseen hand of fate.
Nothing is ever any individual’s or even any agency’s fault.
Things just sort of have a way of happening… no one to blame but fate itself, or maybe God.
