Amber Tamblyn isn’t precisely on the Hollywood A-List, but she has worked consistently since she was a child. She’s perhaps best known for her role in Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants and Joan of Arcadia. Like many celebrities, she has opted to use her freedom of speech — the same right we all enjoy in this country — to offer her opinions on political matters on Facebook.
In the process, however, she managed to illustrate exactly why people shouldn’t necessarily take celebrities’ opinions for being worth much of anything:
Aren’t we all thankful we have Hollywood for constitutional scholars?
To be clear, there’s no evidence that President Trump “colluded” with the Russians to “steal” the election. Any Russian involvement appears to have been limited to hacking emails and sharing the contents with the world. Much of that information was damning to the Democrats, because the Democrats were up to some activities that were much better fits for the description “stealing the election.”
But let’s pretend that Trump somehow literally stole the election: contrary to what noted constitutional scholar Miss Tamblyn argues, the line of succession is pretty clear about Vice President Mike Pence. He would have to be removed from office through the same impeachment mechanisms as Trump, and unless there is ample evidence that he also literally stole the election, he won’t be. But then the order of succession goes through Paul Ryan, Orrin Hatch, and 13 members of Trump’s cabinet — and Hillary Clinton is nowhere on that list.
You’d need to impeach six people just to get to a non-Republican … and it’s Mad Dog Mattis.
Tamblyn’s comments, similar to those echoed by special snowflakes all over this country, are nothing more than wishful thinking. They’re the inane ramblings of people who can’t comprehend that their beloved Hillary lost, especially not to that man.
However, because she’s a celebrity, she reaches a lot more people than the average nutbar, and her status as being famous also gives her more credibility in many people’s eyes. Don’t ask me why, I just know that it’s true, and that is likely to be the downfall of this nation.
Celebrities like Tamblyn and Meryl Streep are known to be good at one thing, regurgitating the lines written for them by others in a way that makes you suspend disbelief. They’re paid to pretend. Why does that give them any more standing on these issues than your next-door neighbor?
Tamblyn has shown just how clueless she is with this crap, and yet many people will listen to stuff she says and take it as gospel. Now think about everything Hollywood has sold as gospel to the gullible just by an A-lister like Streep flapping her gums.
