Kabana podcast stalwart and bon vivant political pundit Jon Gabriel is back with us to discuss his first foray into writing historical fiction.
A veteran United States Navy submariner, Jon's first novel is titled "Sink the Rising Sun," and is about the important part that submarine warfare played for the U.S. in World War II, especially in the Pacific theater of operations.
For reasons that Jon gets into in this episode, America's submarine fighting in WWII wasn't discussed much at the time, nor was it in the immediate aftermath of the war. That's a stunning fact, especially once you realize how integral it was to victory.
Jon also gets into his motivation for writing the book, as well as plans for future novels. Again, it's always a lot of fun when he joins the podcast, mostly because he can talking about anything.
