The chronic sufferers of Trump Derangement Syndrome — both Democrats and Republicans — would have people believe that their only goal is to make sure that Donald Trump stays out of the Oval Office and leaves politics. The implication is that he's a singular problem and that they'll be just fine once Orange Man Bad is out of the American political picture.
Never Trump TDS is an uncontrolled, snot-bubbling temper tantrum, however. Any parent who's lived through the toddler years knows that those don't end so easily.
In fact, this is a tantrum that's not likely to ever end for a couple of different reasons.
For the Democrats, it's not going to end because this is always who they've been. Their flying monkeys in the mainstream media continually insist that it's Trump who triggered all of the political divisiveness and acrimony in the United States. Everything prior to 2016 was just one big Kumbaya moment, don't you know?
Sure, people who used to regularly refer to George W. Bush as Hitler.
Sowing seeds of division is the Democrats' raison d'être. Joe Biden has been leading the charge on that ever since he rose to prominence on the Senate Judiciary Committee in the late 1980s. That's why the "kindly old grandpa" fiction that the MSM was selling in 2020 was so nausea-inducing for those of us who have been around for a long time.
All that Trump did was make the Dems strip away the last little veneer of civility that they had. He didn't trigger them; he exposed them. Now that their hateful freak flags are flying, there will be no reason to lower them once Trump is no longer in the conversation.
The Never Trump people who still refer to themselves as Republicans are incurable for a different reason. They harbor fantasies of a GOP in crisis that they will eventually "save" from Donald Trump. In their version of the post-Trump future, his influence will disappear and they will wrest control of the party from the hoi polloi and return it to the "Harumph" Republicans who care more about happy hours at the Capitol Hill Club than they do about preventing the Democrats from making the United States a communist country.
While it is true that the Establishment GOP vs. the grassroots regular folks battle is an old one, what has changed is that, just as he did with the Dems, Trump exposed the squishy centrist Republicans as the useless Dem Lite wannabes that they've always been.

The Never Trump traitors think that they will immediately be given a seat at the party table after proudly proclaiming that they voted for a commie Democrat for president.
Yeah...no.
Should Trump lose this election, JD Vance and Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis will have the inside track for the 2028 nomination. Neither is a favorite of the Never whiners. The battle will continue and become even more bitter when the Nevers realize that Trump's influence on the GOP didn't simply "POOF!" into nothingness.
There is no cure for Trump Derangement Syndrome. Honestly, nobody is looking for one either.
The Democrats will continue to use Trump's popularity with a large portion of the Republican electorate to scare their low-info base. Republican opponents in elections will be referred to as "just like Trump" for years to come.
The Never Trump faux Republicans need to keep his bogeyman status intact to continue their grifting ways. I don't think the grift will have more than one more election cycle left in it, but most of the prominent Nevers will have secured gigs with the MSM by then.
And those of us who support Trump will continue to back Republican candidates who don't roll over and play dead for the Democrats and their media minions.
