We're all familiar with politicians — especially Republicans — saying really dumb things while on camera or anywhere near a microphone. South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem decided to have her Supreme Moment of Dumb while writing a book, leaving everyone to wonder what in the heck she was thinking.
Not only did this monumental brain fart make it to the page, it survived editing. That tells me that Noem's editor isn't a big fan of hers. A friendly editor would have said, "Yeah...no," and cut it from the book.
The governor has spent a couple of days trying to explain why she wrote about it and it's only been making things worse.
Here are my thoughts on the subject and, yes, I'm aware that I said "Kirsti" at the end.
