The consensus from both sides of the aisle was good for Carly Fiorina, and it looks like her performance piqued a lot of curiosity.
Carly Fiorina was the clear winner of the early GOP presidential debate on Thursday night, according to most pundits — and the Internet.
The former CEO of Hewlett-Packard and the only woman running in the GOP race, dominated Google searches throughout the early evening. According to Google, the only two other candidates to bump Fiorina out of the top searched spot during the 5 p.m. debate were Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal and South Carolina Sen. Lindsey Graham, but neither held on for more than about 20 minutes.
This is pretty much the best-case scenario for Fiorina in this ridiculous set-up that Fox News has going on for this first contest. Early in any primary, name recognition sells in the polls and that is why the GOP field is currently led by the son and brother of former presidents, a reality television star, and a governor who has rarely been out of the national news for the past four years. What Carly needed was getting some of the regular folk interested in who she is and it seems she accomplished just that.
Now let us see if it is reflected in any polls or if most of the regular folk couldn’t free themselves up in time for the earlier debate.
