Munis for Dummies

I have to say that the a href=”http://www.amazon.com/gp/redirect.html?ie=UTF8location=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.amazon.com%2Fs%3Furl%3Dsearch-alias%253Dstripbooks%26field-keywords%3Dbooks%2Bfor%2Bdummies%26x%3D15%26y%3D18tag=wwwviolentkicomlinkCode=ur2camp=1789creative=9325″”Books for Dummies”/aimg src=”http://www.assoc-amazon.com/e/ir?t=wwwviolentkicomamp;l=ur2amp;o=1″ width=”1″ height=”1″ border=”0″ alt=”” style=”border:none !important; margin:0px !important;” / are really useful for understanding various topics that one doesn’t know much about. I use them often, such as a href=”http://drhelen.blogspot.com/2008/05/gardening-for-dummies.html”this one on how to garden. /aI am now reading a href=”http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0470134593?ie=UTF8tag=wwwviolentkicomlinkCode=as2camp=1789creative=9325creativeASIN=0470134593″emBond Investing For Dummies /em/aimg src=”http://www.assoc-amazon.com/e/ir?t=wwwviolentkicoml=as2o=1a=0470134593″ width=”1″ height=”1″ border=”0″ alt=”” style=”border:none !important; margin:0px !important;” / to learn how to buy municipal bonds. I figure that if taxes increase, I’ll need to find some way to shelter savings that makes sense. Since muni interest is often tax free, it seems that they might be a better investment than simply putting money in CDs. Anyone have experience with municipal bonds–good or bad–that they can share? If so, let me know in the comments because I would love to hear from people who actually have experience with them as opposed to only reading about them in a book or listening to a href=”http://www.suzeorman.com/”Suze Orman /a discuss them on her show.
