A baby panda born seven months ago in a Malaysian zoo finally has a name! It’s Nuan Nuan, which means friendliness.
After a lengthy public naming contest, officials with Malaysia’s Zoo Negara chose the name because it exemplifies the diplomatic relationship between Malaysia and China. Nuan Nuan was born to two pandas who are on loan to Malaysia from China.
The name was picked out of some 23,000 submissions from residents in Malaysia.
