As Supreme Court nominee Judge Brett Kavanaugh gave opening remarks for the Senate Judiciary Committee, President Donald Trump couldn’t take his eyes off the screen.

“President Trump is ‘riveted’ and telling people, ‘This is why I nominated him,’ in a positive way, per person close to him,” the Washington Post‘s Robert Costa tweeted. “Talking to lots of people inside WH about how he likes how Kavanaugh is fighting back. Admires the defiance.”

Kavanaugh came out swinging in his opening statement, slamming Democrats for pushing unsubstantiated sexual assault allegations that “destroyed his life” and his family.

The judge predicted that the results of this campaign against him would not be good for America.
