Man Who Charged Trump Rally Charged with Misdemeanor

The radical Leftist who charged a Donald Trump rally in Ohio last Saturday — and was then interviewed on CNN in honor of his heroic exploit — has now been charged:

Federal authorities have charged a man who tried to rush the stage at a Donald Trump rally in Ohio. Authorities say 22-year-old Thomas Dimassimo, of Fairborn, jumped a barricade and rushed at Trump on Saturday. Video from the rally shows Dimassimo was able to touch the stage before security officials tackled him.

Dimassimo was charged Tuesday in federal court in Dayton with one count of illegally entering a restricted area. The misdemeanor charge carries up to a one-year prison sentence.

Dimassimo’s attorney, Jon Paul Rion, says his client is a hard-working college student whose intentions were benevolent and a way to express his political ideals.

Oh, please. This was just the opening salvo in what promises to be a street fight against Trump’s candidacy, and a deliberate attempt by the thug Left to interfere with the American political system. First of all, what is there to “protest”? Trump is a private citizen, standing for national office. His actions, at this moment, affect exactly nobody, legally speaking. But what the Left is afraid of, of course, is what he might do should he win — and anyone who opposes them cannot be tolerated by the Party of Peace, Love and Tolerance.

More here:

Thomas DiMassimo, 22, told CNN he wanted to grab the Republican front-runner’s microphone away and tell the crowd that Trump was racist. But DiMassimo didn’t make it to the podium.

He was quickly blocked by Secret Service officers, and members of Trump’s security detail rushed to cover him. After a few moments, Trump, who was visibly startled, gave a thumbs-up and thanked the cheering crowd for warning him.

DiMassimo, of Fairborn, Ohio, was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct and inducing panic.

Gonna be a long, hot summer. 1968, anybody?
