Halloween star Jamie Lee Curtis, a legendary scream queen, is proving why, when it comes to politics and current events, she ought to stay as silent as the psycho killer who stalked her character Laurie Strode in the film. Last month, after an assassin murdered Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk, Curtis spoke out with surprisingly kind remarks about the activist and lamented his death, noting the devastating impact it’s sure to have on his wife and children.
And, of course, since leftists are bloodthirsty ghouls, they immediately ripped the Freaky Friday actress to shreds for doing something as ghastly as showing a touch of basic human decency. Now, Curtis is pulling a switcheroo, apparently walking back her comments about Kirk to appease the psychotic mob clamoring for her blood.
The actress, daughter of the original scream queen and Psycho star Janet Leigh, now claims she never wished Charlie Kirk “well,” insisting that others “mistranslated” her words.
Let’s rewind, shall we?
On September 15, just five days after Kirk’s assassination, Curtis broke down in tears as she discussed the incident on the WTF With Marc Maron podcast. The emotional moment showed that you don’t have to agree with someone’s politics to recognize the horror and tragedy of politically motivated violence.
“I disagreed with him on almost every point I ever heard him say, but I believe he was a man of faith, and I hope in that moment when he died, he felt connected with his faith,” the Freaky Friday actress told Marc Maron during the interview.
How can anyone “mistranslate” what she said here? Her meaning and intent seem clear. And what she said was quite kind. Why take it back just because a pack of deranged leftist psychopaths thinks she should hate someone who holds different views?
“Even though I find his ideas abhorrent, I still believe he’s a father, a husband, and a man of faith. And I hope whatever connection to God means that he felt it,” she continued. Again, beautifully said.
However, in a new interview with Variety, Curtis tries to appease the zombies on the left who delight in the bloodshed of their enemies by claiming her words were “mistranslated.”
“An excerpt of it mistranslated what I was saying as I wished him well — like I was talking about him in a very positive way, which I wasn’t,” the Halloween star said, adding, “I was simply talking about his faith in God. And so it was a mistranslation, which is a pun, but not.”
“In today’s binary world, you cannot hold two ideas at the same time: I cannot be Jewish and totally believe in Israel’s right to exist while rejecting the destruction of Gaza,” Curtis explained. “You can’t say that, because you get vilified for having a mind that says, ‘I can hold both those thoughts. I can be contradictory in that way.’”
The real kicker is that she also said she doesn’t need to be careful about what she says, despite being a public figure.
“If I were careful, I wouldn’t have told you any of what I just told you,” she continued. “I would have just said, ‘Hi, welcome. I baked you banana bread. Here’s my dog. Here’s my house, blah, blah, blah. What do you want to know?’ I can’t not be who I am in the moment I am.”
Let’s call a spade a spade. Curtis is lying through her teeth. She never would’ve issued this follow-up statement if she didn’t feel threatened by the hateful leftist mob carrying torches and pitchforks. Curtis has transformed into Laurie Strode, running through the streets of Haddonfield, screaming her guts out while a psychopath with no soul or humanity chases her with deadly intent.
Only now, that psychopath isn’t the terrifying force of nature we know as Michael Myers — it’s the liberal mob that celebrates when their political rivals are mowed down in cold blood.
You see, psychopaths aren’t just in horror movies anymore. They exist right here in the real world. One might be your neighbor. Another could be the young person taking your order at your favorite restaurant. Or worse, the doctor treating you for a life-threatening illness.
And if these psychos discover that you’re not on board with the progressive hive mind, they won’t just take satisfaction in spitting on your food, kicking your dog, or botching your medical care — they’ll believe they’re morally obligated to do it.
This group of twisted souls grows stronger every time public figures like Curtis cave to their threats and demands. Her surrender legitimizes their tactics and vindicates their abuse of modern technology to hunt down and harm people who disagree with them politically.
Sure, Curtis might save her floundering film career by walking back her statement about Charlie Kirk, but she’s paving the way for more bloodshed in the future. It’s like Laurie Strode running for cover inside a home full of children and deliberately leaving the door open for Michael Myers. She’s offering up the kids as a sacrifice so she can escape out the back, caring little for the carnage she leaves behind.
