Susie Wiles Should Take Away Trump’s Phone

President Trump is taking heat from both sides of the aisle for his Truth Social post about Rob Reiner's death, and frankly, he deserves every bit of it. I was really hoping Trump would stay silent on this one, but when I saw he'd posted something lengthy, I knew it wasn't going to be good.

Democrats pounced on Trump’s post immediately, and for once, they had a point. Republican lawmakers are also slamming Trump for his unbecoming post—again, much deserved. I've heard from conservative friends who are genuinely shocked and disappointed by what he wrote, all reaching the same conclusion: Trump is truly his own worst enemy.

Look, Rob Reiner was a vocal Trump critic who constantly ranted about Trump's supposed threat to democracy. He literally had to check himself into a mental health facility after Trump won reelection in 2024. I don’t like his politics, but he and his wife did not deserve what happened to them. They were found stabbed to death in their Los Angeles home on Sunday by their own daughter, Rony, and their son, Nick Reiner, has been charged with their murder. According to reports, he stabbed them and slit their throats.

For our VIPs: Reflecting on Rob Reiner’s Death

Trump's post read: "A very sad thing happened last night in Hollywood. Rob Reiner, a tortured and struggling, but once very talented movie director and comedy star, has passed away, together with his wife, Michele, reportedly due to the anger he caused others through his massive, unyielding, and incurable affliction with a mind crippling disease known as TRUMP DERANGEMENT SYNDROME, sometimes referred to as TDS."

He went on to say Reiner "was known to have driven people CRAZY by his raging obsession of President Donald J. Trump, with his obvious paranoia reaching new heights as the Trump Administration surpassed all goals and expectations of greatness, and with the Golden Age of America upon us, perhaps like never before." He closed with "May Rob and Michele rest in peace!"

Remember when people on the left celebrated Charlie Kirk's death? We were horrified. Trump didn't go quite that far, but this was still wildly inappropriate, regardless of what Reiner ever said about Trump or conservatives. I haven't talked to a single conservative who thinks it was appropriate.

Even Trump's followers on Truth Social expressed disapproval of the post.

The only person defending Trump was Laura Loomer, who argued on X that "psychosis is a real thing. Rob Reiner had a level of TDS that likely exuded a level of craziness around those he spent time with." She added that "many people who have crazy kids have psychiatric issues themselves," claimed celebrity children often become "total dead beat losers because many were raised to have no accountability by parents who subscribe to hardcore liberalism," and wrapped up with, "Trump is right. Reiner himself sounded insane when he would speak. Imagine how crazy his own kid was… on drugs. We have a mental health crisis in America."

Loomer doesn’t count.

Here's my question: Where is Susie Wiles? Trump's chief of staff was supposed to keep him more focused and disciplined compared to his first term. That’s what we were told to expect, and we believed it. Wiles needs to take Trump's phone away or, at a minimum, preview every social media post before it goes live. This was a completely unforced error that could have been easily avoided.

Susie Wiles needs to realize she's got to do a better job of stopping Trump from being his own worst enemy.
