The hypocrisy of the left never ceases to amaze me. For years, we’ve been lectured by Democrats and their cheerleaders in the mainstream media with their sanctimonious chant: “No one is above the law.” That phrase was shouted endlessly by Democrats and their legacy media allies as the Biden administration used every legal lever at its disposal to wage lawfare against Donald Trump. And make no mistake, that’s exactly what it was: weaponized, politically motivated lawfare dressed up as justice. The media knew it, the Democrats knew it, and frankly, anyone with an ounce of common sense knew it, too.
Whether it was rogue prosecutors who campaigned on "getting Trump" then twisted the law to do so or the FBI raid at Mar-a-Lago, the mission was clear: Stop Trump from returning to office.
We now arrive at NBC political analyst Chuck Todd's indirect admission. For years, Todd pretended these prosecutions of Trump were not political, parroting the Democrat line that justice was being diligently served. But now, even he has admitted — albeit in a roundabout way — that they were, in fact, political after all.
Yet what does Todd advise Republicans to do in response? Nothing.
“Two wrongs don’t make a right,” he says, suggesting the GOP grin and bear it while Democrats skate free.
The virus killing democracy right now is this “two wrongs make a right” mindset. Revenge over principles. https://t.co/NNFiw3C5A1

In other words, Democrats should get to break the rules without consequence, while Republicans must forever take the high road.
Forgive me, but that’s absurd. Todd isn’t defending a principle; he’s defending privilege. He’s implying Democrats can launch unethical, politically motivated prosecutions, and Republicans must shrug it off in the name of good sportsmanship. That is not justice; that's corruption. And it is especially offensive because there was no legitimate evidence that Trump ever committed a crime. Yet there is evidence — and plenty of it — against the people most loudly accusing him.
Take New York Attorney General Letitia James, who savaged the former president over fake real estate fraud charges and who now stands accused of her own mortgage fraud. Or Adam Schiff, the Democrats’ go-to spokesman for every baseless Russia hoax and conspiracy theory under the sun. Now, Schiff is not only accused of committing mortgage fraud himself, but he reportedly pressured staffers to leak classified information — even when they didn’t have clearance. Anyone else would be facing serious legal consequences for that. Not Schiff. Not James (until now). Not if you’re a Democrat.
And yet, we were told with straight faces for the previous four years that “no one is above the law.”
The left exemplifies the very double standard fueling so much distrust in our institutions. Democrats can lie, cheat, and commit acts that would land ordinary Americans behind bars without so much as a wrist slap, and we’re supposed to believe that is justice.
At the end of the day, Todd is little more than a party-line spin artist pretending to be neutral. Now, he has essentially admitted that the prosecutions of Trump were political. But that doesn’t matter because, in his world, Democrats remain untouchable.
Schiff and James deserve everything coming to them, and Todd deserves ridicule for peddling the ridiculous notion that Democrats can weaponize the law without ever being held accountable.
This is not just about Chuck Todd. He’s not the only one in the left media who knows the truth.
