Not only can no one convince me that Joe Biden's dropping out of the 2024 presidential election was voluntary or patriotic, but I also don't believe that Biden wants Kamala Harris to win. For years, Biden has seen himself as the only Democrat capable of defeating Donald Trump — that’s why he ran in 2020, and it’s why, despite his clear physical and mental decline, he pursued reelection. Reports suggest Biden is still bitter about being pushed out, and I believe he’d rather see Kamala lose to Trump just to cement his legacy as the Democrat who managed to beat him.
Unionized dockworkers at 36 East Coast and Gulf Coast ports went on strike early Tuesday, as Rick reported here, after contract negotiations with a group representing port employers hit a deadlock.
"The International Longshoremen's Association (ILA), which represents 45,000 dockworkers, began its first strike since 1977 after its six-year contract with the U.S. Maritime Alliance (USMX), which represents port employers, expired Monday night," reports Fox Business. "Negotiations between the ILA and USMX have been deadlocked thus far over the union's demands related to wage hikes and compensation, as well as protection from automation at ports. "
The report states that the ILA will exempt cruise ships and military cargo from the strike, ensuring no disruptions to travelers' schedules or national security. However, the strike is projected to deal a massive blow to the economy, costing billions daily and potentially worsening inflation with supply shortages and higher prices.

“The supply chain will start to get shocked after a couple of weeks,” Adam Kamins, a senior director of economic research at Moody’s Analytics, told ABC News last week. “If it gets beyond that, we’ll start to see some much more significant implications.”
That's just a couple of weeks before the presidential election.
As ABC News notes, "President Joe Biden retains the power to prevent or halt a strike under the 1947 Taft-Hartley Act," and "trade organizations sent a letter to Biden earlier this month urging the White House to intervene." They did not because Biden is backing the unions.
“The president supports collective bargaining and believe [sic] it’s the best way for American workers and employers to come to [an] agreement. We continue to encourage the parties to continue negotiating towards an agreement that benefits all sides and prevents any disruption. We’ve never invoked Taft-Hartley to break a strike and are not considering doing so now,” White House spokesperson Robyn Patterson said in a statement.
Think this won't potentially hurt Kamala Harris?
"The strike, coming weeks before a tight presidential election, could become a factor in the race if shortages begin to affect many voters," reports the Associated Press. "Pressure could eventually grow for the Biden administration to help facilitate a settlement, though the administration has said it doesn’t plan to intervene beyond encouraging both sides to reach an agreement."
Joe Biden literally had the power to stop this strike and didn't. I've said before that Joe Biden has been looking for revenge after being forced out of the presidential race. Could this be it?
