Carol Moseley Braun Scolds Kamala for 'Sad' Attack on Biden: 'Her Ambition Got It Wrong About Joe'

It will be interesting to see how the race to secure the Democrat presidential nomination plays out. If the first few weeks are any indication, we can look forward to months of leftists eating their own. The latest victim of Democrat-on-Democrat crime is none other than Kamala Harris, who famously (infamously?) attacked Joe Biden during last week’s debate. Harris, of course, has received her fair share of criticism over the unfounded attack, but this time her opponent has a prominent and influential voice among the black voters that Democrats covet.

For those unaware, during the debate, Harris called Joe Biden out for comments he made about working with segregationists in the past. Taking the ex-VPs words completely out of context, she accused him of expressing nostalgia for segregationists. As Tyler O’Neil points out for PJ Media:

Biden did not express nostalgia “about who these guys were.” Rather, the former vice president mentioned his record of working with two segregationist senators — members of his own Democratic Party — with civility, despite vehement disagreement with them. His remarks focused on the need for civility in politics, rather than any praise for segregationists. Biden has a strong record on civil rights, yet both Booker and Harris launched into baseless lies about these comments.

Well, it turns out that many within the African American community are none too happy with Harris. Most notably, Politico reports that Carol Moseley Braun, the former senator from Illinois, rebuked Harris by saying, “We can be proud of her nonetheless, but her ambition got it wrong about Joe. He is about the best there is; for her to take that tack is sad.”

Note Moseley Braun’s use of the word “ambition” to describe Harris in contrast with her description of Biden as “the best there is.” In other words, the Democrat establishment is not going to allow the new crop of flashy Democrats to take down the old guard.

As Politico points out:

The criticism of Harris over her rough treatment of Biden is among the first signs of backlash — including in her home state — against the California Democrat who had a breakout moment in the first presidential debate. It’s also a sign of the goodwill and loyalty that many still feel toward that the vice president, who has managed to keep many of his backers in his camp, even amid criticism of what was roundly viewed as a subpar debate performance. Indeed, sources say Biden walked away with a $1 million haul after two fundraisers in San Francisco alone this weekend.

Kamala Harris better be careful or she’ll find herself a discarded flavor of the moment. Not only is Joe Biden loved by many in the African American community, but Democrats will not stomach the pillorying of anyone associated with President Obama.
