Note to PJ Media readers: before committing a crime, you may want to check the weather report. That’s a lesson that two would-be thieves in Manchester, England, learned the hard way.
After robbing a travel agency, the two thieves ran to their car, only to be foiled by high winds. Video released by the Manchester Police Department shows money falling out of their pockets and hands as the wind swirls around them. The duo’s attempts to retrieve the money quickly turned comical as the wind blew their loot out of reach.
The video is quickly going viral, and the police are hoping that someone will provide information about the hapless robbers who are still on the loose. Posted under the video, police spokesman Detective Constable Phil Scargill said,
This duo threatened innocent people working in the travel agents and should know their actions are utterly unacceptable.
They took every step to secure the money in the shop, but left the stolen notes in their wake as they fled from the scene.
I’d urge anyone who saw the two men, or caught sight of them dropping notes as they ran from the travel agents, to please get in touch with police and share what you know.
Out of all the variables the pair considered, I bet that they never thought to consider wind whipping down the alley. Let’s hope that the video of their comically thwarted robbery helps secure their arrest so that they don’t have the opportunity to implement their newly learned lesson in another robbery attempt.
