Couple Uses Alligator for Strangest Gender Reveal Ever

Facebook

Gender reveal parties have become pretty common these days, with people using pink or blue balloons in a box or icing in a cake to let their friends know the sex of their unborn baby. But balloons and icing are so tame, at least to some.

Mike Kliebert of Louisiana comes from a family of alligator tamers. He himself is a tamer, along with his father, grandfather, his 9-year-old son, and his pregnant girlfriend. So when the time came to have a gender reveal party, the natural choice was to have an alligator do it. What could possibly go wrong, right?!

Melody Kliebert, the baby’s grandmother, took a video of the reveal and posted it to Facebook. It has since gotten 94,ooo shares. In it, Mike Kliebert is shown prying open the huge jaws of Sally the alligator, placing a watermelon loaded with Jell-O into her mouth, and then letting her chomp down on it as blue liquid shoots from the fruit. Sally, it turns out, is the family’s “movie gator,” having appeared in commercials, TV shows, and films. She has also been in the family for 61 years, since Kliebert’s grandfather hatched her in 1957. For Kliebert, Sally is part of the family.

Animal activists, along with people just concerned with the welfare of children hanging out near a dangerous alligator, have voiced concerns over the Kliebert’s decision to use the reptile for a stunt at a party.

But Kliebert told the Huffington Post, “I know gators better than I know the back of my hand,” and that there were “a dozen other gator handlers on the scene, most of my family are gator handlers.”

Luckily nothing did go wrong. As Sally showed the world, the couple is expecting a little boy.

Just found out my grand baby is a ,,,,,,gotta love it!! And I do !! No matter the results !!
