Education has gone to the dogs. A new report identifies universities in Ohio, Michigan, and California that provide school funds to “furry clubs,” or clubs for people under the massive delusion that they ought to and can belong to a different species.

If you’ve never met a “furry” before, believe me, you are not missing out on anything. I recently encountered a couple at my local ComicCon, but there are entire conventions and clubs and organizations specifically dedicated to encouraging people in the animal branch of transgender ideology. While most believers in transgenderism claim to be the opposite sex, furries claim they really are dogs, cats, or other animals. A teacher I know had a student who demanded that she be given special names and food because she identified as a cat.

University of California, Berkeley is considered a prestigious school, but its “gay woke transgender furries” group belies that. From Campus Reform: "The Associated Students of the University of California (ASUC) FY27 budget lists a $1,500 allocation for the Anthropomorphic Animal Appreciation Association (AAAA)/Furries at Berkeley, up from $1,150 in its FY26 budget. Budget allocations do not establish that organizations spent the full amounts."

By the way, it can cost up to $56,000 a year for undergraduate students to attend UC Berkeley and live on campus. That’s a lot of money to spend for your kid to come home wearing a mascot costume and crawling on all fours. Talk about infantilizing college.

Similarly, Kent State Furries is a registered Kent State University organization in Ohio. It uses campus facilities every week for events and is able to apply for a couple hundred dollars in university funds annually when it wishes.

Campus Reform:

At Michigan Technological University in Houghton, Michigan, the registered organization Furries at Michigan Tech says it serves as the university’s chapter of the Anthropomorphic Animal Appreciation Association, which it describes as a multinational organization seeking to bring “furry representation” to college campuses.

The group advertises several events, including “Furs Go To Aquatifur!,” “The Furs’ Winter Carnival,” the “Keweenaw Furbowl,” and “Doohickey Corporation’s Thingamabob Convention.” For its annual trip to the “Aquatifur” furry convention in Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin, the organization says it “drastically” lowers admission costs and pays for lodging… [The group] states, “This is where your Student Activity Fee is going to! :3”

There are still a handful of universities and programs that are worth paying for, but the majority of college students now are simply paying a great deal of money to be indoctrinated into woke ideology and mental illness. Not only that, young people are learning that they should be proud of their perversions and insulting to anyone who disagrees with them.

Just the other day, a student at the University of Arizona who is in the Army ROTC program told me a student was screaming at the ROTC students, “Have fun dying for Israel and pedophiles.” University of Connecticut is having a repeat protest of its previous anti-Israel rampage that led to more than a dozen arrests. A young Students for Life of America chapter head recently wrote about aggressive hysteria from pro-abortion students for Campus Reform. Numerous universities encourage staff, faculty, and students alike to interfere with ICE operations.

And unfortunately, DEI and LGBTQ propaganda have not disappeared from universities despite Trump administration policies. The sexual perversion nonsense is all too alive and well in Higher Ed. And if parents are spending $50,000 or more a year for their kids to wear cat heads and attend a Furbowl, that is a disgusting waste of money. How can any furries actually function in the real world? And has higher education in America become irredeemable?
