Celebrities love to brag about their children identifying as transgender or LGBTQ. But one celebrity is upset that her son came out as Christian. How disappointing that he loves the Judeo-Christian God, instead of worshiping the rainbow cult.
As someone who rarely goes to the movie theater or watches popular movies and TV shows on streaming platforms, I have to say I had never heard of Anna Faris before. She is an actress, producer, and podcaster who had a son with superhero film star Chris Pratt, though she and Pratt are now divorced. The teen son, Jack, has somehow escaped the poisonous propaganda of Hollywood enough to identify strongly as Christian, and even urge his mother to make Jesus the center of her life. But she is very much a product of Hollywood propaganda, and she not only despises his religion, she is trying to undermine the faith of her son.
“He is … religious,” Faris disclosed of Jack, as if this were somehow a melancholy shame. Since she did not grow up with religion, she seems to think anyone who did is a heartless, hopeless regressive. Jack asked her to accept Jesus Christ and His teachings, and she returned an answer meant to pacify him while still rejecting the Gospel, as she “told him I would do anything for him, including this, but it’s gonna take a whole lot of long conversations.” Faris made her comments on Chelsea Handler’s show Thursday, according to Page Six.
All of the things that Faris said she uses to challenge Jack’s beliefs are so shallow and insipid it is sad to reflect that practically everyone around them would agree with her rather than with him. For instance, she described being pro-life as a “luxury,” as if opposing the dismemberment, starvation, or beheading of unborn babies were somehow justified if only the mother is poor.
Faris also pointed out that some pastors are hypocritical, as if this were an argument to discredit all organized religion. Every single leftist leader is hypocritical, but that doesn’t seem to bother Faris. Judas’s betrayal did not taint the Gospel, it simply showed that sometimes priests and pastors fall into grave sin. Yes, we can analyze the actions of people who profess religious beliefs, but the key is whether their actions are in accord with their professed beliefs, or whether they are in fact opposed.

Faris did acknowledge that Jack’s answers to her anti-Christian challenges are sometimes “impressive,” but still tried to pretend that she is improving his mind by continuing to argue with him.
Page Six added:
Faris said that though they don’t always agree, she’s “appreciative” that her son is “examining religion the way he is in terms of recognizing hypocrisy” and that she’s “appreciative [they] can have these long conversations” together.
The “Just Friends” star shares her son with ex-husband Chris Pratt ... The “Avengers: Endgame” star also happens to be a devout Christian who’s been known to speak out on his own religious beliefs — despite criticism. Pratt once shared that the premature birth of Jack was a moment that bolstered his faith.
I almost wonder if possible resentment against her ex-husband party influences Faris’s battle with Jack over Christianity. Since Pratt has a failed marriage, he is not the perfect Christian, but the whole point is that all of us need Jesus to help us repent of our sins, overcome our weaknesses, and become holier, a process that takes our whole lives (Romans 3:23). One hopes that Pratt can help support Jack in his faith and prevent Faris from doing too much damage.
We pray that Jack will grow ever stronger in his faith, continuing his admirable effort to evangelize his mother and spread the Gospel.
