A Secret Service agent caught sharing sensitive information on Vice President JD Vance and a Department of Homeland Security (DHS) employee who reportedly leaked thousands of federal officers' details to leftist activists prove once more that our bureaucracy and government are full of woke crazies.
The danger of having a vast unelected bureaucracy is that many government employees spend decades in their jobs regardless of their performance, qualifications, or results. This is one of the reasons the Founding Fathers tried to keep the federal government strictly limited in the U.S. Constitution. Unfortunately, we started ignoring the Constitution, and now every Republican president has to fight an army of federal employees who oppose his policies.
O'Keefe Media Group has a new exposé on Secret Service agent Tomas Escotto, who shared numerous sensitive details about JD Vance, his family, and his travel with a woman who turned out to be an undercover reporter. Escotto, who is now reportedly on administrative leave, not only chatted casually about details he wasn't allowed to divulge, but also sent photos and texts with sensitive location data. The key fact to explain his conduct was his admission that he not only voted for Joe Biden, but also hates the Trump administration's immigration policies.
Escotto is not the only federal employee to endanger other feds recently, though he (fortunately) was identified while the other dirtbag is still anonymous. The dangerous activist group ICE List got a hold of some 4,500 DHS employees' names, emails, and other personal details, at a time when assaults on ICE are already up by 1347%. The leaker is reportedly a DHS employee.

The same feds who helped enforce the pernicious policies of the Biden administration are mostly still in their jobs. And they're eager to cause problems for reformers.
Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton noted on Jan. 11 that the Trump administration has fired only about 140, or approximately 0.4%, of FBI employees. That means the overwhelming majority of the FBI agents and officials who enforced the Biden-era weaponization of justice against Donald Trump, his allies, Miles Guo, the Jan. 6ers, pro-lifers, Catholics, conservative social media users, and other individuals and groups are still working for the agency and drawing a taxpayer-funded paycheck. That worries me, and I think it's fair to say that it should worry most Americans. Did those FBI agents suddenly grow a conscience when Kash Patel took over the agency? Likely not.
Obviously clearing out the Deep State is a work in progress, but I think many Republicans became a little complacent after Donald Trump won the 2024 election and his party took control of Congress. We cannot afford to ignore the massive number of unelected federal bureaucrats who are entrenched in unconstitutional corruption and radicalized with woke ideology.
The risk particular to this year is that Democrats will encourage their loyal sympathizers in the Deep State to sabotage Trump administration efforts. This is not as far-fetched as it sounds; we know during the Covid-19 lockdowns, for instance, that multiple federal officials actively worked together to thwart Trump's pandemic plans and censor online commenters who disagreed with the mainstream narrative. They could do so again.
