The ever-poisonous and Communist World Economic Forum recently held its “Annual Meeting of the New Champions” in its favorite dictatorship — China, which represented another opportunity for elites to spew endless meaningless propaganda, even while working to destroy freedom and prosperity around the world.
Jane Austen, the great English novelist who died on this day in 1817, wrote a scene in her satirical novel “Northanger Abbey” where Catherine Morland tells Mr. Tilney, “I cannot speak well enough to be unintelligible.” I could not help thinking of that quote as I read the meaningless babble published by WEF during and following its summer conference in Tianjin.
WEF, which once described its ideal future as a world where you “own nothing, have no privacy” and supposedly enjoy it, has many nefarious initiatives on foot. And as usual, it is holding up the genocidal Chinese Communist Party (CCP) regime as an ideal. But all the truly Orwellian activities are masked in rambling jargon.

To give you a sample of what I mean, from an article released after the conference:
Young leaders are driving social innovation, reimagining how we address issues such as food insecurity, gender equity and environmental justice.
• The Global Shapers Innovation Prize aims to empower the next generation of changemakers providing solutions, defined by their impact on people's lives.
• The 2025 Innovation Prize winners show how youth-led solutions can reshape societies and systems, through the lens of place-based transformation.
WEF’s description of the conference itself is equally silly: “Through action-oriented dialogues, the meeting aims to accelerate progress on shared imperatives and offer participants the opportunity to explore how entrepreneurship and emerging technologies can unlock more dynamic and resilient economies.”
As to what place-based transformation, action-oriented dialogues, and environmental justice mean, your guess is as good as mine — and WEF probably doesn’t really know either. They just smashed a lot of vague and positive-sounding words together to hide the fact that they want to use climate alarmism and elitist economic experimentation to deprive most citizens around the world of rights, freedoms, and property.
What exactly is WEF up to behind the scenes? For one thing, it has partnered with C40 Cities, an initiative that aims to phase out private transportation, meat consumption, travel, and unrestricted shopping for most citizens.
This year, the CCP vice premier was a featured and honored speaker at WEF’s Davos conference. WEF also asserted earlier this year that Communist China is a model for the world on how to make a “green transition,” even though China continues to build hundreds of new coal plants. WEF appears still to be pushing a digital currency/ID and social credit score similar to the CCP’s, where the ID is required to do or buy anything, and the government can freeze a dissident’s life by altering his digital status. Indeed, in January, WEF released a white paper on how dictatorial Communist China’s AI efforts are a “Blueprint to Action.” This is about a regime with 500 million+ victims.
Don’t fall for the propaganda. WEF isn’t trying to make the world a better place. It is trying to destroy Western civilization.
